## Seperate page for capers

Should there be a seperate page for the capers? I don't think they belong in the thieves' guild wiki.

I started making caper pages already. first one up and done

## -Hanky Point Reward

I just wanted to leave this information for the wiki, but I'm not comfortable editing the actual article. So, here you go; I am Level 68 thieving. I had a maximum of 68 Hanky Points available. Those 68 Hanky points were used to claim 4828 thieving xp. That works out to 71xp per hanky point. 184.77.203.226 18:00, April 28, 2010 (UTC)

I was plotting the XP reward vs. the skill Level, and it looks like a nice curve (not enough data to fit an equation yet). The only point that is out of line is the 4,824-XP-at-level-64. I'm tempted to edit it to 4,284 XP, but I thought it'd be polite-r to ask someone to double-check first. Amaterasu123 11:42, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

I'm trying to make a formula for the xp, but I'm disregarding level 64 in the table, as it seems wrong. --CXgamer 16:12, April 30, 2010 (UTC)
UPDATE: There are some flaws with the current table. Because the xp difference in the 70's is 144, in the 65's 136 but in the 55's it's 184. And in the 80's, it's a 85 xp difference. I'm assuming that the 144 and 136.

I'm pretty sure that the xp difference is 2 times the max hanky points, but I can't figure out the transitions yet (71>72). Need more data pls. :)--CXgamer 16:26, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

I suspect the XP reward for Level 80 should be 6,552. Using that, and the other data given for Max = 72, the equation comes up as XP = 2*Max*Level – 4968 (or $2*Max(Level-34.5)$). I believe I’ve also figured out the equation for Max = 68, it is $2*Max(Level-32.5)$. And, considering that all but one of the XP reward values are even numbers, I supect the value of 6,765 (Level 81) might be 6,764? Amaterasu123 12:29, May 1, 2010 (UTC)

## South Chests gave blue hankies

The article says "The chests on the south side will always give red hankerchiefs..." but that wasn't the case for me. They always gave me blue, same as the north chests. It depends on how much of the guild you've unlocked. I think if you've only got the first stage (after quest, not after capers) then everything gives blue regardless.

I just wanted to confirm the info above that is not yet in the article- I have not done any capers and I only get blue hankerchiefs from all chests. 69.76.29.4 08:05, May 3, 2010 (UTC)
Just wanted to confirm that unless you do the capers you will only get blue hankies. I did the first 2 capers and quest before starting and I remember reading that it was only blue hankies you got.

## Locked Room

Anyone got a clue about how to get in there? I've yet to fathom a way into it. 21:15, April 28, 2010 (UTC)

## Shattered Heart

Anyone know if you can get strange rocks from the pickpocketing volunteers/trainer? Ergori 05:08, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think you can. I did it for hours and did not get any... then I pickpocketed HAM members and got one. 69.76.29.4 11:59, May 4, 2010 (UTC)

## Four Different Guilds

There's actually Four different guilds. The 1st One, is a room with those two theives in it. After you finish the quest, it kicks you out and loads the rest of the guild, two people, locks and traps trainer, and pickpocketing trainer, with the chests, dummies, and living quarters to the south east. After you finish the 1st caper with the Dwarf, it kicks you out and loads the 2nd Guild, the Blackjack Trainer and the volunteers.

After you finish the 2nd caper, with the gem, it kicks you out and loads the 3rd guild, with the shop to the west, a room to the north, the safe-cracking trainer with safes, and additional living quarters to the east.

No clue about the 3rd caper, but there's some music called, "Thieves' Guild IV". So, as you progress, you can tell which guild you are in by the music. Also, if you're in the third guild, you won't see anyone in the other guilds.

## Coshing Experience

The guide says 177 per loot. However, I was level 68 and looted, and got 184 per. I levelled up. After that, I got 165 per. Levelled up again (70 now) and get 166 per... In hindsight, I may have misread 164 as 184, but regardless, it leads me to believe that the exp at each level is different, possibly part of Jagex's whole "smoother exp rates" plan. 17:14, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

I have been doing it for a while, and every level seems to increase it by roughly 1 exp point per loot. For example, at level 77 i get 172 exp per loot, where as at level 73 I got around 168 exp per loot. So it definitely increases as you level goes up. ----domderek112

## References/Trivia

The "third-biggest" quote might also be a reference to Monkey Island as well, as Guybrush has been known to say such lines (when examining a ship: That's the second most beautiful figurehead I've ever seen...) --Jimfromtx 03:24, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

## Coshing update?

It seems to me that I'm not able to do as many cosh/knockout anymore...anyone else notice this?

Yeah, I knocked off about 10k Thieving XP very quickly originally, but now I'm looting slower than I was. So much for coshing being the "choking ivy" of Thieving... 16:59, May 2, 2010 (UTC)

## Is it just me?

Is it just me or is this wierd?

{{SUBST:Template:Signature/King Aereas}} 02:44, May 1, 2010 (UTC)

It is caused by the difference in apostrophes, most likely, 28 edits edited the first article before it was moved to the current one. C.ChiamTalk 02:48, May 1, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I noticed this too, max I can get is like 435 per knockout.

## General store/bank

Waht's inthem? Are they run by anyone special? Anything in particular in the locked office, can I break in? ile:Runecrafter hat.png Helm360Talkhiscore 20:51, May 1, 2010 (UTC)

## Xp per hour looting chests

I didn't want to edit the actual article because I am not sure how much this kind of information needs to be confirmed first before doing so. I am lvl 53 theiving and with or without competition, 90k xp per hour or more seems more accurate. One other person looting doesn't seem to matter because the chests reclose very quickly, so you can go back and forth between just two of the chests. In 10 min I got 15k xp doing the doors and the chests ---69.76.29.4 08:10, May 3, 2010 (UTC)

The above post is false. At 59 thieving, doing perfect runs, opening all doors while only opening south chests, I got 50k exp/hr.

## Factual correction

Just ran a test. I picked the locks on the chests and doors while listening to a Linkin Park album. I know that's a bit off topic, but I used said album to keep track of time. I opened all of the doors, opened the south chests, and only when all south chests were open, I opened the north chests. I failed on the south chests between 2-5 times per chest, only opening somewhere around 8 or 10 on the first try. The north chests were between 1-4 failures per chest, with no failures about a fourth of the time. There was never once a time when all 6 chests were open, so my results are likely nowhere near the maximum experience rate possible for this activity.

Here are the results:

Start lvl 52, 123,742 xp. End lvl 54, 158,362 xp. Total time elapsed: 36 minutes 55 seconds. Total experience gained: 34,620. Total time elapsed in seconds (easier to convert it to xp/hr that way): 2215. Total seconds in one hour: 3600.

The equation looks like this: 34,620/2215 = x/3600. To solve, multiply 3600 * 34,620 (you get 124,632,000) and divide that by 2215, which gives you 56267.26862302483, or approximately 56k xp/hr.

As I stated before, my results are likely nowhere near the maximum experience rate, as I failed quite often and never even had all 6 chests open. There were several times when I didn't even get all three southern chests open, although that was mainly when the doors were closed (only once or twice when they were open.)

Sorry if I oversimplified that, and don't hesitate to ask if I undersimplified it and you aren't sure why the equation was set up/solved the way it was. Hope this helped at least somewhat.Darth timortus (talk) 06:06, September 29, 2012 (UTC)
