The armour

Somebody have a problem with showing what torva armour probably looks like? it seems that way if the link to the video keeps being deleted same with the picture Defence cape (t) Rabbit FearArmadyl godsword 17:36, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

Wrong images

The armour supposed to be torva was confirmed to be an alternate model of void knight gear.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk).

Got a source? --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 19:22, January 3, 2011 (UTC)
Now why did somebody place an image of bandos gear from kb and claim it's torva leaked? Will remove this false information.

Dark e 02:04, January 4, 2011 (UTC)

Notice it says or perhaps even some of the life-boosting torva armour in the text. Yeah. That shows the leak. It's not false, it's a real picture. User:Haloolah123/Sig 02:08, January 4, 2011 (UTC)
Ah, those last few words that werent ever referenced to in anyway, someone might as well remove the entire bandos stats section to specify what the leak actually is, as you can see, I completely missed it. :p

The YouTube video

Alright, I'm tired of this. There is a YouTube video depicting what may be torva armour. IPs and users alike appear to disagree over whether this video should be linked in this article, as I frequently see people adding and removing it. Thusly, I want a definite answer, one way or the other. Do we or do we not include a link to this video in the torva armour article? Until a decision is reached, the video is not to be added to the article. Discuss. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 21:27, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

No, it's speculation.

I say remove it. It's just speculation, and we aren't a crystal ball. User:Stelercus/Signature 21:31, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
There's no hard evidence that it's torva armour. If we saw the robes from File:Nex hint 1.jpg in the video, that might be different, but right now there's nothing to support the premise. It may well be the armour, but we are not here for speculation. ʞooɔ 21:38, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
Pfft. Anyone saying that's torva is just guessing. It's like people saying the watery GWD area was behind the frozen door. User:Real Not Pure/Signature 21:45, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
^ I dont think anyone said that as it was found in the sara gwd area Defence cape (t) Rabbit FearArmadyl godsword 17:47, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

The point is now moot since torva armor has been released. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 07:58, January 11, 2011 (UTC)

Removed Torva Armour pics

i posted a Youtube video and a picture of torva armour and they were removed because they were speculation, and that if they showed the robes from another picture it might be another story, i would just like to point out that, that both the video and the picture have the robes in them, in the picture, there is a mage wearing these robes standing near the ranger in the back and another surrounded by three melee fighters, please examine this  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Arazzan (talk).

They were removed because there is no proof that the video or pictures actually show torva armor or the Zarosian robes. See the discussion above for points about the YouTube video. Furthermore, it's against image policy to upload images from other fansites, and the image you uploaded is watermarked by RuneSlayer, another RuneScape fansite. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 23:13, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
fair enough, thank you for clearing that up, i will see to it that i do not make this mistake in the future  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Arazzan (talk).
Honestly what else could it possibly be? jagex leaks updates almost every time they post a new picture or video we know torva is the newest armour to be coming out and the video shows 3 new sets of armour therefore its torva armour no "speculation" needed point made Defence cape (t) Rabbit FearArmadyl godsword 23:27, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
It does not say "this is torva armor". Therefore, we do not know what it is. Could it be? Sure. But until a definite answer is made, no one should speculate on the article.
  1. REDIRECT User:Urbancowgurl777/Signature 23:30, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
It's also nowhere to be found whether he will have minions/they will drop armour, so we should remove that too. It's also nowhere said that the armour drops will be very rare. Maybe they'll be common but it takes a lot of time and skill to get. That's speculation too. Dragon pickaxe Thojohn22 Talk HS Dragon pickaxe 17:26, January 8, 2011 (UTC)
Stick with that tiny pic only mentioning it by name then and a gwd boss not dropping armour? i really dont need to say how ill thought out it is Defence cape (t) Rabbit FearArmadyl godsword 17:45, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Capitalising Defence

The word 'defence' should be capitalised and hyperlinked in this article, as it is in every other armour article. Whoever is doing it, please stop reverting the D back to lowercase. Thank you.

Done (by you), and it's "capitalise", note the "a". Full slayer helmet Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon platebody 14:17, January 8, 2011 (UTC)
Fixed. Thanks for the correction, I didn't realise I made a mistake. I posted it here because it's not the first time I've had to change it; someone is reverting it back.

Minor Grammar Problem

"Nex, who is level 1001, is being described as the toughest boss monster released." This is wordy, it should sound better as this "Nex is level 1001 and is being described as the tougest boss monster released."

Is this armour basically useless for...

anything besides bossing? (and pking but you'd be insane to pk with this expensive of armour) I mean def bonuses are great and all but def doesn't really matter at all from what I gather, being that a lot of people use proselyte armor for general slaying and all and that has been proven as one of the best setups if you use prayer constantly.

I guess the virtus and pernix are a different story as the armor adds to your ability to do damage though.

So is there any real incentive to get this armor if you dont boss or pk?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk).

To flaunt your cash. Same as Partyhats. --Aburnett(Talk) 23:00, January 10, 2011 (UTC)
guess so, as decent str bonus but still.
I'm guessing that Zarosian GWD armor will not always be hundreds of millions of coins for a set. It will come down, and when it does, depending on how much it costs to repair, it will be quite useful. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 01:17, January 11, 2011 (UTC)
Of course there is. This armour is Excellent is every aspect, prayer bonus, str bonus, best def bonus of any armour outside of Dungeoneering. (The helm is 2/3rds as good as bandos chestplate). Plus the extra 400 hp opening someone with 99 hp to 1390. That is two sharks worth of hp you wouldnt have to worry about. That makes it better for any type of combat.
You mentioned it is good for boss fights, and thats true (they are a major part of why any high level would acctually buy good armour), you also mentioned pvp. Pvp does not just have to be the dangerous kind. It could be clan wars (in which 400 more hp on an already maxed player is huge) and it could be in Dueling. Dueling isn't big now, but if or when they soon will bring back free trade the duel arena will burst.
Believe me, I have a few dozen maxed friends and most are estatic about risking 10m-100m+ at the duel arena. In that place where 100 hp, much less 400 can make a difference, these would be HUGE. Plus don't forget the best str bonus and huge defence bonuses. Even for regular dangerous pvp these things would kick ass. With people who already use divines and such, a piece of armour that increases their max hp would be excellent.
So all in all? This armour may drop or rise due to rarity, but it most certainly will be HIGHLY used by those who can afford it. (TheEmptyLord)
I guess so, but I still don't see the point on having more HP for slayer when all the monsters you fight really don't hit all that much anyways, most of them are less than 200lp so even soaking won't take place. Anyways, you have to heal yourself once you put on the armor, I guess what I was saying is that for slayers (which I know there is a lot of you out there) that only slay, and dont boss or do pvp or minigames really. Because I mean once you have a bunyip and enhanced excalibur you never really need food or defence really since most of us are fine with proselyte armor's def bonuses anyways and the prayer bonus is what we're after. So yeah i can see it's uses but man I guess I was hoping for the next best piece of slayer armor, but maybe next time. Oh well.
Lol...This armour is still better for slayer than any other armour. Not only does it increase Str bonus, which leads to faster kills, but the defence negates the need for wasting prayer, esspecially if the monster you are fighting has multiple styles. +400 hp is a huge leap, It means you have to eat less, have much less risk of dying and can stay longer. Esspecially if you are using saradomin brews, or unicorn/titan which heal a percentage of health. Besides, I have never met a player that only slays. That doesn't boss fight, pvp, do minigames or any such. You say you wanted better slayer armour, but what would that be? A new version of Prossy? Personally I almost never use prayer unless I am fighting spiritual mages or other such. So much simpler to have decent def and mage and tank them out with a unicorn. This armour is expensive, sure, but it outshines any other armour for any activity. Even perhaps void, though of course it has much higher defence, it also has a decent offence and with barrows gloves it could deal a greater dmg %. (TheEmptyLord)

I heard that torva armour, along with the ranged and Magic sets, cannot be traded once they've been used and degraded slightly, much like Barrows. However, I also heard that the armor can't be traded even after you've repaired it, which means that once you sink hundreds of millions of coins into the set, you can't sell it back. Is this true? Because if it is, the price on these items will climb immensely. I would like confirmation/denial of this rumor, please. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 01:57, January 11, 2011 (UTC)

I think if that is true, it's a glitch, that will probably be fixed. (in regards to it not being tradeable even after you have repaired it. Is it lendable?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk).
No, I highly doubt that it's lendable, because degradable items generally cannot be lent. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 07:57, January 11, 2011 (UTC)
I figured it prolly wouldnt be but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

It has been proven. Torva armor is untradeable once degraded, period, even after a repair. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 10:49, January 11, 2011 (UTC)

Mod Mark H confirmed that it was untradeable after repairing is a glitch.,16,292,62156745

Emote Enhancer

Is this even true? Seems very unlikely to me. Melc Crystal 20:19, January 11, 2011 (UTC)

well mage supposedly gives a 15 damage bonus. Ranged gives a +15 range str bonus (may only work with new bow though). So melee's set effect being an emote enhancer seems a bit odd...Bio 01:17, January 12, 2011 (UTC)

price speculation

The price speculation about that it would be 2-300m for the entire set sounds unreasonable... no one i ever spoke to expected it to be that price as they said its harder than corp... and divine sigil is still 600m so expected prices to be near that per item. Basically my point is I don't believe that section of the page is necessary Amun erebos 02:29, January 12, 2011 (UTC)

I wish to point out two things: One, torva armor is apparently a more common drop than sigils are. Two, the reason elysian and divine spirit shields are so high is that they were hoarded by merchanters. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 02:32, January 12, 2011 (UTC)
well the drop rate wasn't known before its release and the merchanters would just buy these anyway... either way the 2-300m expected price was speculation.
Well torva and the other sets will rise because merchants are buying them up, it happens with all new items. But as time goes on, more teams will effectivly kill nex and bring more onto the market. Also, I believe the odds of new items are far better than sigils from corp. corp only has 4 sigils and based on that rates I seen, a sigil is about 1 in 450 kills on average. Nex on the other hand has 10 unique drops, and since it is trickery than corp it probably has far more generous rates. Just a guess, but I think the chance to get a new item is probably 1 in 20 or so (aka if all 10 items were 1 in 200, in 200 kills you should get all 10 thus 1 in 20 in average). Of course that is just a guess of the rate and the averages and ratios only prove true in the long run, but still... So for a while the new armor will be hard to get and rise greatly in price. But since nex seems far more profitable than other bosses (since 100m items at what seems to be lowest odds to get) lots of teams will start killing her once more tactics are known. And since the new armor does degrade, unlike spirit shields, there may be less of a demand than there is for elysian and divine (although it is still best armor so there will be a lot of demand). That is just my guess on it anyway...Bio 16:53, January 12, 2011 (UTC)
Are you sure the torva armor is also that common? i can imagine Nex drops the ceremonial robes(also uniques) quite often, because it is not that expensive. But i'd expect torva armor to be a lot less common. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 09:37, January 17, 2011 (UTC)

Can someone post a picture of a female character wearing Torva?-- Rune crossbow Saphrone08 Talk Ranged cape (t) 09:02, November 6, 2011 (UTC)

There needs to be a male avatar wearing torva aswell as they do look different on F/M characters.

Yes, there's currently a discussion on it, they will almost certainly be split into two separate images. The male version is in the file history for the current pic. --Henneyj 07:18, March 12, 2012 (UTC)
