Merge With Tribute to Guthix Event

Since the event outlined on this page is the Tribute to Guthix Event (Also called the spring event by Jagex) perhaps it should be moved to the appropriate page. I don't recall Jagex saying this replaces the 2013 Easter Event. Tomdiepstrap (talk) 16:15, March 12, 2013 (UTC)

Hmmm you're right. I just assumed that it was the 2013 Easter event but now that I think about it Easter is on March 31st this year which is over 2 weeks away meaning the event wiuld finish before Easter even happened. I vote Merge since I clearly made a mistake labelling it as the 2013 Easter event. I'll go change all the links to the Tribute to Guthix page but I have no idea how to merge pages unless it consists of just copy-pasting everything over. 04ismailjj6 (talk) 16:22, March 12, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, I agree, they should be merged. But it is the easter event, I refer to the BTS of March:

I agree as well. The BTS states that Jagex is moving away from real-life themed events such as collecting eggs for easter so the holiday events will be more in-line with Runescape themes. This shouldn't be referred to as the "easter event" either since Jagex is calling it a "holiday event". See the login splash image, with the World Select, Friends, Options tabs. Easter…but not as you know it (free players and members)

This month we're taking a different approach to our Easter event. For years we have celebrated holidays by strangely twisting real-world parties and making them uniquely RuneScapey. That’s all fine and dandy for some, but I’d much rather celebrate dates that meant something in RuneScape and the citizens of Gielinor. Don’t worry, you’ll still get costumes, items, emotes and members-only content but it will be far less egg and bunny-themed. Right now, I won’t ruin the surprise of exactly what that event will be, but I'm confident it will mean something to each and every one of us. The majority of the event will also be available to free players.

I still don't think it's the Easter event since this envent is explicitly stated to last 2 weeks and will thus finish before Easter even happens, in contrast to every other holiday event ever where the even took place over 2 weeks with the holiday ahppening roughly in the middle. the tribute to guthic page was created but merged into the easter 2013 event page seems some people dont know when easter is >_> - anonomus

This is not the Easter event. On the official wiki this event comes under other and there isn't even a page for the 2013 Easter Event. Unfortunately someone has already merged the Tribute to Guthix page into this one instead of waiting for confirmaiton or consensus.

Oh good. Apparently someones renamed the Page to 2013 Spring event which nicely Clears up the problem. Can whoever did it please tell me how they did it?  I could've fixed my own mistake 3 and a half hours ago then instead of waiting around for someone else to do it.04ismailjj6 (talk) 19:47, March 12, 2013 (UTC)

Move it to 2011 Spring event because it's not an easter event either!

NOT 2013 EASTER EVENT!!!

This isn't the 2013 Easter event okay? This event lasts 2 weeks from 12th march 2013 to the 26th march 2013. Easter is on the 31st march 2013 and this event will be over before easter happens. If common sense isn't working for you then I'd like to point you to the Official Runescape wiki Holiday events page which does not contain a 2013 Easter Event and places the Tribute to Guthix event under 'Other'. You guys are both reading too much into it. The BTS just says there's no bunny themed easter event and Mod Emilee's post says she's interested in reading split opinions on what constitutes an easter event and that she doesn't think it should be bunny themed either. Neither of those state that this is the Easter event. If it is then it's an even bigger break from tradition by not having it over Easter than not having a bunny since the bunny wasn't in last years event or 2011's. While Jagex said they'd make the easter event more RS related having it not take place over Easter is plain ridiculous. Either Way I think it should be kept as 2013 Spring event till Easter and if there hasn't been another event by then we can change it then, not change it back and forth all the time now. 04ismailjj6 (talk) 18:10, March 13, 2013 (UTC)

If next month there's a true easter event, or you show evidence that's very convincing, this will stay as the easter event until shown otherwise. If a real easter event is next month, I'll move this to Spring event. Coelacanth0794 Talk 18:12, March 13, 2013 (UTC)

No, the evidence is in the favour that this is the Spring event so it should be called that until there's an Easter event or Easter goes by without one. And I would've thought that the fact it will be finished before Easter is pretty convincing evidence.
