Summoning in the cave?

I just saw a video of a guy using a pak yack/ steel titan in the cave... since when can we summon familiars in the cave? -_-

- This was a glitch back in the day

Obsolete?

Maybe I'm a moron, but... why is this page in the obsolete category? The game existed yesterday, and I'm pretty sure it's still there. - Nubarron, 71.240.196.251 04:49, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Featured?

how in hell did this ever get featured? Its a messGreen partyhat Bob2006ty(RUNESTORM333)  talk Green partyhat

Waves

It is said that a player have to endure 62 waves before the big boss...How do you know the number of waves ? I mean is it shown on the screen like Kill Count from barrows minigame Urssaff 09:51, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Number is from experience by other players and other websites, unfortunately it is not displayed during the game. You just have to keep track of it manually. Chrislee33 06:56, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Now the wave number is shown at the beginning of each wave. Winning444 04:23, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

Do you lose any of your items if you die in the fight cave? --Arpaleggia 14:39, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Lol, i just found out you dont by looking on http://runescape.salmoneus.net/fight_caves.html -.-

Do you have to stand on the east side Italy rock to trap Jad, or can you also trap him on the rock formation on the east sode?Jdogy15 04:33, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Could ppl place images or add text what the recommended armour / inventory is for lvls 49-, 50-79, 80-109, 110-138? Or something like that?

Thanx Buzz (Talk#P ) 07:23, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Out of date? And a few shortcomings

May i know as to WHY this article is outdated? otherwise its safe to just remove the tag

Furthermore, i notice that the article is suffers from lack of info on HOW to deal with the fight ecaves

granted that each player has his own style, and that there is no "best" style for dealing with the caves.....

but still, a few guidelines would help greatly(note meticulous details in the barrows and temple trekking guide)

ofcourse, if there IS a seperate article for dealing with the fight caves, atleast a link has to be placed in the page stating so

My experiences (and resulting edits)

OK, I have now a little bit of experience with this mini-game, so I thought I'd try editing the article a bit. Though article seems a bit of a misnomer here; "(very poor) guide to acquiring the cape" might be a better description. Not that I mind though, after all, that's what I am looking for...

I recently went in to beat wave 31 for my Karamja Diary, and was surprised at how easy it had become for me (having tried 2 or 3 times earlier). I used Fire Wave and Mystic 'armour', which actually worked rather well despite making some mistakes in the beginning, eg not using a safespot. Today I made another (half-hearted) attempt using red d'hide, Rune c'bow with Topaz bolts, later switching to Ruby bolts. My Defence is 74, Magic is 75 and Ranged is 63. Oh and 75 Hitpoints and 61 Prayer. On my Diary raid, I allowed myself to be killed in wave 32, and today I just wasn't trying, so died in wave 21. Prayer potions are a must. If you can avoid making mistakes, food might be optional, though I don't know this yet.

Based on these experiences, I will edit some of the Notes in the Monsters section.    For Camelot!  Zang! talk  My health! 13:37, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

I will now also edit the Wave breakdown based on certain assumptions. Remember though that I have never completed wave 32. If someone could edit this section to make the prayer icons smaller, I'd appreciate it.    For Camelot!  Zang! talk  My health! 14:20, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

The Wave breakdown section is just to tell people each monster they will face in each wave, and not where strategies/tips/etc should be placed. However, you're free to add any tips/hints to the other article sections. --Drummer (speak) 19:42, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
Cool, I was hoping my Talk parallel to my edit would elicit some feedback. I've lifted my breakdown into a subpage off my userpage for my own use.    For Camelot!  Zang! talk  My health! 20:37, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

Training

Maybe it could be mentioned that it is possible to train in the Fight CavesDifferent340 04:55, 7 September 2008 (UTC) I believe that whoever put in the experience section implied that you can train here. I agree it is a good place to train to an extent, and perhaps this should be mentioned. i will add to the article as i get more information on the XP gains. --*cubic* 22:04, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Exaggeration?

"immensely difficult", "impossible for all but the most versed in combat tactics"... Really, this minigame isn't that hard. Outmanoeuvring the beast in Summer's End is more difficult. Does the article need to sound so grand and foreboding? File:Fire cape.PNGAlex D T 04:19, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

I disagree, I got past the beast on my first try, a fire cape took me 5 trys. And I'm pretty sure that is quoted from the game guide. --HaloTalk 18:31, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

Incomplete

This article has an incomplete section, i.e. the experience by wave section. I suggest that this either be removed entirely or updated. Having failed to achieve 1/3 of the waves, I deem it uneccessary to be on the page, and will only provide confusion. this would be helpful if the total exp was shown, or every wave was completed in terms of the amount of exp given. --*cubic* 17:28, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

References

Could someone please add a reference to Post bag 38 for his max hit being 97. The link is http://www.runescape.com/p=kKmok3kJqOeN6D3mDdihco3oPeYN2KFy6W5--vZUbNA/kbase/viewarticle.ws?article_id=878. I have no idea how to. Bttb333 17:16, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Consistency in order of suggested equipment

I appreciate the fact that someone has made the effort to describe recommended setups, but they do confuse me slightly. I am sure that Ranger boots are better than dragon boots, ie best listed first, but later on Black d'hide is listed before Armadyl when I would expect Armadyl to be better. Is the order random? Could someone organise them consistenly? Please? --   For Camelot!  Zang! talk  My health! 08:23, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

image

There was an image added to the rewards part of this, and it messes up the writing a little, its got the whole paragraph, then the word 'jad' seperated from it all because of the image. I tried fixing it but i got confused, could someone have a look? TzTok-Gas talk 13:04, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Imparciality

Hold on a bit, shouldn't a wiki be impartial? Instead of showing suggestions and opnions on how to defeat Jad, this article should just state FACTS about the TzHaar Fight Cave. I think that a guide on how to should be either on a separated part of the article or in a complete different one, cause really, this one is quite a mess. Anyway, I'm new around here, so I figured would be better to discuss it before going changing all the text. So? --In Rainbows 12:12, September 5, 2009 (UTC)

Slayer Experience

The slayer experience needs to be added for the monster's respective pages; apparently Kuradal assigns them. Mage24365 02:44, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

Tz-Kek

It says in the lv 45's info that the lv 22 ones do have a recoil effect, but in the lv 22's info, it says that they do not. Can someone check this out? --I Fight 329 16:55, December 16, 2009 (UTC)

There is no recoil effect when using melee on the lvl 22's, only the lvl 45 and again, only when using melee. Gentleway 18:25, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

Slayer Assignment - Helmet Update

I was thinking that perhaps the new full slayer helmet would be ideal for use with the bonus range & melee stats when doing the slayer caves for kuradal's assignment/challenge. I don't have one yet but have a buy order so I can try it when i get it. It would be a major bonus for the equipment. Gentleway 22:40, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

Great minds think alike, because I was gonna try that and melee jad when I got a task (range the 360s). It would be pretty sweet. By the way, you forgot to sign your post ;) --HaloTalk 19:13, February 18, 2010 (UTC)
Sorry about that, thanks. Gentleway 22:40, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

Yea, I just got offered the task, and I accepted it based on the theory that my full slayer helmet would have it's effect on every Fight Cave creature, if not just on the Jad. However, I can't test it, b/c finishing my slayer assignment before I got to Jad would screw me over - I don't have a fire cape yet. Have there been any discoveries about using the full slayer helm in the fight caves yet? HxC Ferret 05:51, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

I was under the impression that the focus sight and hexcrest do not give bonuses unless the monsters require a slayer lvl

That impression is incorrect. Focus sight and hexcrest grant the bonuses versus any monster that is your Slayer task, just like a black mask. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 06:01, April 9, 2010 (UTC)
