Why did this happen?--Richard 18:43, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Random collisions? Why did what happen? Woodcutting-iconHyenastetalk 18:47, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
Why was this page changed from current events to recent updates? It was fine the way it was... This place is so full of friggin noobs now I swear...--Richard 18:51, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, current events wasn't an appropriate title in my opinion. Change it back if you want, just make sure to tidy up all the links and such. Also don't call me a noob; it's a rather silly insult. Woodcutting-iconHyenastetalk 18:55, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Update:Namespace?

Does this really go in the Update: namespace? It's not an update; it's an article about updates. (Take Wikipedia for example - the article on Wikipedia isn't Wikipedia:Wikipedia, is it? Update:Updates should, theoretically, be about the update namespace, I think, not updates... JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 15:17, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Precisely what I was just thinking. I thnk this should be moved to Updates or deleted, and replaced with a sort of [directory/table of contents] of updates. Oddlyoko 20:17, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Moved to Updates and also maybe a RuneScape:Updates page, which explains how we deal with updates? At the moment all new updates are posted in the forums by Eucarya; possibly a space to post the most recent update could go there instead. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 21:46, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
It isn't really a page about updates. It's an index of updates, all of which are in the update: namespace. -- Couchpotato99 (talk) (contribs) 02:18, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
Yeah,,,because they are actual updates. This one isn't, so it doesn't go in the namespace. That's the way I see it, anyways. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 07:50, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
It is not an index of updates, it is an article ABOUT updates.

adding "[sic]" to Jagex typos?

Our procedure for direct quoting means that we copy the text exactly as it appears on the RuneScape website. However, Jagex staff members are still humans, and they do make mistakes. To prevent confusing new users, should we add "[sic]" to Jagex typos? --Ixfd64 00:18, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Dunno. A lot of RuneScapers wouldn't know what it means. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 08:19, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
I don't know what it is... >_> Oddlyoko 20:23, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Adding [sic] after a word indicates a typo that is from the primary source, not the secondary. (Jagex made the typo, not us.) JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 20:56, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
I just made template:sic. If someone doesn't know the meaning, they can just click the light blue and find out. So instead of adding [sic] to a page, add {{sic}}. Woodcutting-iconHyenastetalk 21:32, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

knowledge base news

The RuneScape knowledge base also its own news. Should we add a section for those news items? --Ixfd64 18:07, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Mmm, that's a bit less important. Perhaps adding a single monthly update for it (listing everything that changed for the month) would be better. Oddlyoko 20:24, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

10 minutes not 3

We get a message 10 minutes before an update, not 3.

We need a new picture.

From observations this is done sporadically, so I think it's not really worth a new picture. I'll look at the text though King Runite1 21:24, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Below the picture it has a caption that explains it all, we dont need a new picture because this one merely shows what it looks like.

Hidden censorship update???

Not trying to be offensive, but I heard that the made an update that lets you say "Ass". I've seen people saying "ass" without being censored. Kinda weird.

Update time

Update time should be mentioned too. 12:00-16:00 or something in England. 94.22.21.102 14:57, January 11, 2010 (UTC)

Move to Update:Updates

This isn't really an encyclopedic article on updates. System update is. This links to the Update namespace, too. Also, an article like News should be created. User:C Teng/sig 17:37, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - It isn't an article, but it is not an update by Jagex either. Only stuff belonging to Jagex should be "stored" in the Update namespace.   az talk   17:51, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

How about merging system update into this, and just having one page for the different types of updates? RCNNMSBucket detailrwojy 17:54, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

This page, I think, is a page describing the types of updates that Jagex announce in their website. While I think this article should be rewritten and expanded with more detail, I don't think this should be merged with System update. System update is an article about the updates which only occur in-game: Hidden updates and the usual game updates. That article should stand by itself, and not be merged with this one.
Simply put: Updates=website announcements; System update=in-game changes  az talk   08:25, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

Keep in mainspace - Regardless of how some of the other discussion pans out, I think this info belongs in mainspace rather than the Update namespace. Air rune Tollerach hates SoF Fire rune 09:24, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

Suggested removal of text-only images

There's a lot of rather useless images on this page. Do we really need an image showing the message someone gets about blah blah blah when it's all text? It hardly matters one way or another, and if anyone cares enough, it could always be just described in a trivia section. Having an image for it seems crowded and redundant. Hofmic Talk 22:08, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

For the record, almost everyone I know on RS agree that all these updates are stupid and pointless, and I think it takes to long to reload the game afterwards. The last few updates didn't even change anything... WTF?
