please add that the vote count is currently just above 650k, thanks 71.204.176.49 01:04, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

Keeping a current count of the votes is annoying and unnecessary. At major milestones (say, 1 million votes), we'll update the article. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 01:06, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

question

can somebody upload the image of the count to a more current version (above 715k) ?????? thanks 71.204.176.49 02:18, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

The image is there to show off the interface, not to keep an up to date count of how many votes there is.

Only One Problem

Actually, you may not enter the SAME username multiple times.

For instance, if you typed in "Zezima" and pressed 'Enter' or 'Vote Yes' his name would show up at the top of "Recent votes." Type his name in again, however, and he will not appear at the top, or anywhere for that matter. So while it IS possible to enter multiple names on one computer without indentification, there is 1 vote per 1 username. Just thought it'd be a good idea to fix that in case someone wastes there time entering their user. InMyOpinion 03:05, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

Nice observation. That still doesn't stop someone from making a bot that enters every single name that appears anywhere on skill/activity highscores. So a lot of the data will be faked no matter what. User:Haloolah123/Sig 03:09, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

Some dude with Photoshop and 5 minutes of spare time

The picture is a 100% fake and was created via HTML editing by the RS player 'Stand' . (Source) - Anonymous

Someone from inside Jagex took this screenshot of a Jagex post, you may find it very interesting: BALEETED: I'M DELETING THIS ON THE GROUNDS THAT FAKE IMAGES ARE BAD. AND THE WIKI IS ABOUT CORRECT INFORMATION AND NOW THAT WE ALL KNOW THIS IS FACT IT HAS SERVED ITS PURPOSE. ALSO I'M ALL KNOWING.

Cool, but I changed the section header to something more appropriate. http://i631.photobucket.com/albums/uu33/Psycho_Robot/Sigs%20and%20Avatars/kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar 06:05, December 22, 2010 (UTC)
Lol thats pretty cool, that must have taken a lot of time to edit in Photoshop, how did you manage it?Technus King 11:59, December 22, 2010 (UTC)
Magic User: It's totally fake. The most widely distributed said "Mod *blank* but where's the edit button? All mods can edit any post, even a J-mod. ;)

Images deleted, as they are highly likely to be faked. If you can find the forum page on which they were posted, then the page can be archived (see Template:CiteForum) and used as a citation. Otherwise, they are of little use here. User:Stelercus/Signature 17:48, December 22, 2010 (UTC)
The clan chat images are not faked as 100+ people were in that chat. Plus those other images weren't doing any harm either. You can't just delete images on the grounds that you think they may be faked. Plus this is the talk section, so we can figure out these sort of things.

^ Biggest BS I've ever seen. LOOK AT LENDING! Its basically asking for scammers.86.40.21.28 18:14, December 22, 2010 (UTC)
Lending does sound sketchy, i would think you could only demand it back if you didn't trade for anything in the first place otherwise scamming would be easy for scammers via lending.
Fake. You can't see the staff forums without being logged in as staff, notice that no one is logged in. Poor shop is poor. Weird gloop @Gaz#7521 18:22, December 22, 2010 (UTC)
Good eye, i agree that is prolly fake, the clan chat screens are legit enough however.
With that said, I will just delete the image forum image. User:Stelercus/Signature 19:15, December 22, 2010 (UTC)
you just like deleting things don't you?
We delete images that are not needed, and if they are fake they are not needed.
  1. REDIRECT User:TyA/sig 20:33, December 22, 2010 (UTC)
then delete the above section talking about the fake image above. DERP.
and who's to say they are really fake? can we get more than one player's confirmation on this? what if we find out they are real later?
We don't delete discussions per RS:DDD, and it cannot be confirmed that it is real, and without proof we cannot verify it as true.

It's on the grounds that a jmod has said the poll isn't fake. stop going in circles here. Sheesh. Everyone knows the one about Mod Osbourne in the "photoshop and guy with 5 mins spare time" is a fake. Edit: don't worry i took care of it for you, because apparently discussing whether these images are fake or not is frowned upon.
I've readded the image to up there because this is a discussion page, not a content page, and because the image is not saved on the wiki it doesn't hurt to leave it there. Plus it would make the conversation to read over later if one so wishes.

SCREENSHOTS THAT WERE DELETED IN THIS DISCUSSION THAT MAKES PEOPLE WHO RESPONDED TO THEM LOOK DUMB BY DELETING THEM SO I AM ADDING THEM BACK IN ON THE GROUNDS THAT THEY AREN'T HOSTED ON THE WIKI THEREFORE ITS OKAY (according to the guy above me):

If you add those to an article, they will be removed, for the same reason they were deleted Lol. You appear to be more interested in talking about the pictures than the article, so I suggest you move the discussion over here, as this talk page is only for the discussion of the article. User:Stelercus/Signature 21:01, December 22, 2010 (UTC)
I'm not trying to add them to the article, that much is obvious, more so I am interested in whether or not these images are relevent the content of the this article and how legit they are. Just one person saying its fake doesn't make it completely certain. Regardless, if they are are fake or not, they can help re-enforce facts of the matter. On that note, I'm going to log out be the anonymous user I used to be because of the crappy experience I've had being a registered user here. Thanks for that.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Aliena Ferox (talk).
I have a friend who was in the clan chat at the time, who also posted this conversation on the RSOF. Can't be fake imo.

Those offsite images are obvious fakes 1st off, why call the people you wok with on a daily basis "staff members"? seems a bit too formal, and 2nd they all work in the same building it would be much more practical to gather everyone up for a team meeting to discuss the changes rather than to do the same thing but online, for example, say person A wants to discuss a topic with person B but does so online even though person B is sitting next to person A its impractical 81.157.58.123 01:09, December 23, 2010 (UTC)

Note to everyone

This page is NOT a chat room. if you want to discuss improvements to the article, do that here. If you want to whine and cry, or advertise the vote, do that somewhere else, like the runescape official forums. Thank you.

Isn't it Obvious?

This is a Push poll. Jagex is going use the incrediably high number of "yes" votes this thing will get and use that for justification for the scheduled January 15th Free Trade/wildy return/improved botting detection and rwt combatant update.

DID YOU READ THE BIG ORANGE NOTICE AT THE TOP OF THIS PAGE? 15:45, December 24, 2010 (UTC)

Referendum Account Restrictions

After logging in with five accounts to vote (family/friends), my computer required a CAPTCHA with each log in. Even though I enter the correct username/password/CAPTCHA combination, I get a white screen or 404 errors. Not sure if this is intended or not, but I thought I'd add it. (Update): The CAPTCHA has been applied to me on all parts of the site. I tried clearing my cookies and cache to get around this, but it only served to prevent my RS Toolbar from getting updates...and I can't log back into the site to re-auth. Do not do this.

I will add this if it can be confirmed. 19:21, December 24, 2010 (UTC)

I had this happen too. It's probably to stop people from creating random accounts and voting with them using bots. Slayer-iconAlandar995TalkMagic-icon 17:11, January 14, 2011 (UTC)

High Votes

Is it worth noting that 90% of the votes counted are showing "yes"? It was 89% on the first day, which suggests that it's trending up. Currently 8% have voted "no" and 2% don't care. 453,118 people have cast a vote (almost to a 500K benchmark in two days).

Failed planning

Mod Paul himself said that Jagex would be able to handle the bots if free trade and the wilderness came back but, as we all know bots are worse now than ever. Perhaps a link to his post could be added to the article somewhere?

Here in a screenshot of his post just incase
