Telos, the Warden is the guardian of the Heart of Gielinor. He starts at a combat level of 2,000, but gains 10 combat levels for each percentage of rage - meaning a combat level of 42,000 at 4000%. He is fought in four phases with a fifth phase unlocked at 100% enrage. As his enrage increases, the fight becomes much harder to the point where even a slight mistake at the wrong time can prove fatal.
Any combat style can be used, as Telos is equally weak to all forms of combat. Telos has very high accuracy, capable of hitting through tier 90 armour quite frequently. For beginners and high enrage kills, magic is the best combat style against Telos. For experienced players, melee and ranged can be used instead, although magic is still the most dominant combat style.
Magic is the strongest combat style against Telos, as while he has no weakness, mages do have access to many useful abilities such as Asphyxiate and both Impact and Deep Impact to stun Telos for a prolonged period of time while attacking from a distance.
The normal spell book for debuffing spells such as Vulnerability and Enfeeble to temporarily weaken Telos. The ancient spell book allows players to use Shield Dome as a pseudo-Resonance and also access to both Blood spells for AoE healing and Ice spells for AoE binding, which is extremely useful when battling Telos at high enrage.
Mechanised chinchompas are recommended for phase 5 as the low health of the golems means that they can be quickly taken out. However, it is not recommended for most players as rangers must time their stuns carefully (which becomes a problem after 150%+ enrage) as they only have access to Binding Shot and Tight Bindings, their only stunning abilities.
Two-handed weapons are suggested since their AOE attacks can help clear the golems. Similarly, a weapon with halberd range, mainly the Noxious scythe or Dragon Rider lance, will help clear out the golems with a few threshold abilities. Like magers, melee users can stun Telos for a prolonged period of time via Destroy, followed by Kick/Backhand and their threshold variants. They also have the capability to debuff Telos the most wih Quake and Statius's warhammer's Smash ability, lowering his affinities by 7.
However, this can prove to be a problem during phases 3-5 as players need to catch up with Telos and will be unable to attack as early compared to ranging/maging players.
The most prioritized auras should be the berserker auras (Reckless, Berserker and Maniacal), as they provide the most accuracy bonus against Telos in addition to increased damage. However, players will find themselves with less defence and take more damage, so it shouldn't be used on any enrage where Telos and his minions can deal extremely heavy damage.
Behind these auras should be accuracy auras (Sharpshooter, Runic and Brawler). These auras add accuracy (3-10% depending on level) and do not reduce the player's defence nor make them incur more damage. However, these auras do not apply a bonus like the Berserker auras and do not deal extra damage, meaning that the player's accuracy and damage output will be significantly lower.
It is highly discouraged from fighting Telos without either of these auras, as doing so results in significantly slower kills.
The following list of invention perks are recommended: On your weapons:
- Aftershock - for minion clearing
- Equilibrium - this can serve as a cheap alternative to aftershock.
On your armour:

As a switch:
- Dreadnips - As Telos is not immune to stuns/binds, these can help stall Telos' attack pattern to allow the player to deal extra damage before he can use a special attack. They can be extremely helpful when the player cannot stun when Telos has broken free of one. They can also poison Telos.
- A shield and defender - The shield is used with Resonance to heal large quantities of health from Telos' double tap attack. The defender can be used as a less efficient shield but allows for the use of dual-wielding abilities to increase damage output, which is useful against the golems. Defenders are optional at low enrage, but are still recommended nonetheless.
- Debuff runes (on normal spellbook); Vulnerability to increase damage against Telos by 10%; Enfeeble to decrease Telos damage by 10% (optional)
- Debuff weapons:
- Guthix staff (magic) - only to use its special attack, as it is the only way for magic users to decrease a target's defence and affinity.
- Statius's warhammer (melee/magic) - only for its special attack. Quake can be used by 2h users as a far cheaper alternative, albeit at a greatly reduced defence reduction rate (30% from Statius's warhammer compared to the 5% of Quake). However, it is extremely expensive and should be used sparingly, such as phase 5. This is also useful for maging or ranging players and they should carry a melee body to help with accuracy.
- If using melee/ranged, runes for Disruption Shield if on the Lunar spellbook.
- Runes for Shield Dome if on the Ancient spellbook
- Weapon poison - Telos is not immune to poison which can help whittle down his health and those of the golems. Weapon poison can damage Telos while he is charging the instant kill attack.
- Enhanced Excalibur - A good source of healing, especially when using Onslaught.
- Mechanised chinchompas if ranging - Save these for golems on phases 4 and 5.
- Portent of item protection (not needed with a Ring of Death) and Portent of life (or a Defence cape)
When Telos is fought for the first time, he will have 0% enrage and 400,000 life points (4 phases of 100,000 life points each). Unlike the fight with Araxxor and Araxxi, Telos's rage does not necessarily increase after each kill. Upon defeating Telos and getting potential rewards, the player has the option to either claim their reward immediately (which resets the killstreak and enrage) or continue the challenge. The player can elect to leave the coffer and claim the reward at the anima font outside. If the player continues without claiming their rewards, Telos's enrage will increase anywhere from 5% to 20% after each kill (an average of 12.5%).
When starting a new killstreak, players can customise Telos's enrage, anywhere from 0 to their current highest enrage +5. There are also pre-set enrage fights at 0%, 50%, 100%, 150%, 200%, 250%, and 300%. A final option is available for players to fight Telos at their current highest enrage + 5%.
Every 1% of enrage will affect the fight by a slight amount. While not much of an issue on low enrages, the changes will become more noticeable on higher enrage.
At these enrages, Telos gets new/modified mechanics:
|50% || On phases 2 and 3 respectively, Telos gains access to a virus attack. The virus deals rapid damage to the player, and can only be removed by standing on the anima stream that appears in their respective phases. If the virus is still present after 30 seconds, it will be removed, but deals a heavy hit equal to 10 times its base damage on that enrage. The virus is also part of Telos's attack pattern during those two phases. He always inflicts it onto the player 3 auto-attacks after his stun attack. It also determines what Telos starts off with in the next phase. On phase 2, if he phased during or after the virus attack, he will start with his virus attack on phase 3. On phase 3, if he phases during or after the virus attack, he will start off with a stun attack on phase 4. Viruses are also removed upon phasing Telos if still on the player when it occurs.
Telos will also begin to recover his stats at 50% and higher enrage. This recovery time increases even faster every 50% enrage after that, capping at 250%.
|100%||The "true" fight with Telos begins at this enrage; a 5th phase (refer below) is added onto the original 4 phases. He can also inflict a green virus, though it only appears during phase 5 and behaves the same way as the black and red viruses.|
|150%||At this enrage and higher, Telos will occasionally perform Freedom when bound or stunned with a 30 second cooldown between freedoms and a game message accompanying it stating "Telos breaks free from its bindings." He can still be stunned or bound after breaking free.|
|200%||Telos's health during phases 1-4 caps at 600,000.|
|250%||At this enrage or higher, during phase 5, after breaking free of any stuns or binds, Telos becomes stun immune for 6 seconds. He will use Freedom far more frequently compared to 150%-249% enrage with a cooldown of 20 seconds as opposed to 30.|
|300%||Telos's health during phase 5 caps at 200,000 (a total of 800,000 life points for the entire fight).|
|500%||The pure, volcanic and corrupt anima fonts' hit points cap at 10,000.|
|1000%||During phase 4, rocks that normally appear on phase 5 start falling down on this phase. During phase 5, up to 5 piles of rocks can fall on the player's location. The green anima stream drains prayer points at an even faster rate. Telos' instant-kill bomb on phase 5 will ignore the player's Immortality effects if it is active. He will also use Freedom at an even faster rate compared to 250%-999% enrage.|
|2700%||Telos's tendril attack will cap at a maximum requirement of 30,000 damage to break loose. However, Telos's healing from the tendril attack will continue increasing past 15,000 damage as enrage increases past 2700%, to a maximum of 21500 at 4000%. It is interesting to note that if no damage is done to Telos while it launches it's tendril attack, each heal after the first will cap at 15,000 damage after 2700% enrage.|

Telos has several abilities during the fight. These are attacks he uses the whole phase; refer to individual phase sections for abilities that only occur during that phase. There is a gap of three auto-attacks before he uses an ability. His enrage affects the damage he deals with his attacks.
Regardless of phase, if Telos cannot attack the player for a prolonged period of time, he will send rocks falling down on the player's position until he can attack them (see phase 5 section for information on this attack).
- Swipe (melee auto-attack) - Telos uses his blade arm to attack the player with melee.
- Magical Discharge (magic auto-attack) - If unable to attack with melee, Telos discharges a small ball of anima to attack the player.
- Siphoning Tendrils (grip) - Your anima will return to the source! - Telos slams his tendril arm down into the platform, causing tendrils to deal typeless damage to the player and immobilise them. During this attack, Telos will heal himself and drain their adrenaline by 5% every tick. To break free, deal a set amount of damage (a game box will appear stating how much damage is required, and will also appear in the chat box). He will let go in 15 seconds if the player fails to deal enough damage. During the duration of this attack, he will slowly gain some anima to fill his special bar. All sources of damage count for extrication from this attack (poison, reflect damage, dreadnips, etc).
- Telos heals himself based on this formula (1,500 + 5 * enrage) and the required damage to break free is based on this formula (3,000 + 10 * enrage)
- Telos will take into consideration of the range of the player's weapon. If the player is out of the maximum range of their main-hand weapon, they are dragged next to him.
- Energy Sword (uppercut) - Gielinor, give me strength! Telos charges himself up for an attack on the player. When fully charged, he dashes towards the player while swinging his blade arm for typeless damage. This drains some of his anima from the special bar.
- This attack can be avoided by using Surge, Escape, Barge, or Bladed Dive on the correct tick, which is 1 tick after the overhead dialogue disappears. Players must be at least 3 spaces away from their initial tile after using the aforementioned abilities, or they will still be damaged.
- Resonance can nullify this attack's damage, although it is not recommended to do so as the stun attack comes up next. Resonance will not heal the player for any damage it would have dealt, either.
- Double Tap (stun) - Hold still, invader. Telos flails his tendril arm at the player before smashing it down on them for heavy melee damage. After doing this, he will proceed to jump at the player's position for even heavier typeless damage. The heavy melee hit stuns the player, while the stomp attack will disable any overhead protection prayers/curses if the player gets hit by it.
- Use Freedom or Anticipation before this attack, followed by Resonance for a heavy heal. Telos will perform one auto-attack during the flailing animation, so make sure Resonance is timed right to avoid getting damaged from the heavy melee attack. Move out of the way after the heal to avoid getting stomped on. The autoattack before the stun counts as part of his special attack rotation, which means he uses his next special attack two autoattacks after the jump-smash.
- Strong Anima Bomb - SO. MUCH. POWER! Used during phases 1 and 4 if the special bar is filled. Telos launches a large ball of anima towards the player, dealing damage based on this formula (5,555 + 111.1 * floor (enrage/10)). Like the stun attack, Telos performs one auto-attack during this animation.
- Use Resonance, Reflect, Debilitate, Barricade or Immortality (if your health is low enough for the bomb to "kill" you) to reduce/block damage from this attack. Resonance will not heal the player for any damage it would have dealt. Shield Dome is another good alternative if defensives are unavailable, as it is a spell and thus not affected by the instant-kill bomb's resetting capabilities.
Green stream - Standing in this stream will give you a rapid adrenaline increase (in intervals of 10% adrenaline per tick, which is doubled if Natural Instinct is active) but drain prayer points. If Telos stands in the stream, he will increase his attack speed to once every 3 ticks and his anima bar will fill. This stream will always spawn aiming at Telos and will persist for 20 tick intervals (12 seconds) and disappear for 28 ticks (17 seconds).
- On encounters of 1000% enrage or more, the green stream will drain prayer points at an increased rate.
Telos starts the fight with seven auto-attacks (use stuns to allow as much time before first special). After that, he uses the attacks in the following rotation unless interrupted by the anima bomb special attack:
- 3 auto-attacks
- 3 auto-attacks
- 3 auto-attacks
Telos will always start off with the grip attack as his first special attack.
Unlike the next two phases where the streams immediately reappear in another location when the current one despawns, green streams only appear occasionally. You should keep Telos away from the green streams, as he will attack faster, which will accelerate his attack patterns and can leave an unwary player off guard.
The most beneficial special attack to end phase 1 on is the tendril attack, which means he begins phase 2 with his magic onslaught as his first special attack. Having him end on his uppercut attack is also fine, though players must be prepared for a stun attack on the next phase.
Black stream - Standing in this stream causes the player to both take and deal 30% less damage. If Telos stands in the stream, he also takes and deals 30% less damage in addition to filling his attack bar. These streams always spawn aiming at Telos. This beam will persist for 33 ticks (20 seconds) and will remain active the entire phase.
- Magic barrage - Telos pauses and discharges anima energy onto the player. He starts off with pale yellow projectiles, but the longer he performs this attack, they will gradually change to moderately damaging orange and eventually ending at highly damaging red projectiles after 5 projectiles. During this time, Telos's attacks have 100% hit chance, but with sufficient armour rating, it is possible for a hit to miss; if this happens, a second, unavoidable hit will be inflicted, which deals 50% less damage. Although the stun icon can appear when stunning Telos during the onslaught, he is unaffected by stuns for its whole duration. Abilities that deal increased damage against stunned targets, e.g. Wrack, still deal increased damage if he is stunned.
This attack is linked to his special bar; the attack only ends once it is completely empty, and if it was empty to begin with he will only discharge one weak projectile before resuming his attack pattern. If the player does not block the black beam, the magic barrage continues indefinitely.
Telos's first attacks in this phase are determined how the phase 1 ended:
- If the last special attack in phase 1 was grip, the next special will be magic barrage after there have been a total of 3 auto-attacks between the two specials.
- If the last special attack in phase 1 was uppercut, the next special will be the stun attack after there have been a total of 3 auto-attacks between the two specials.
- If the last special attack in phase 1 was stun, the next special will be tendrils after there have been a total of 3 auto-attacks between the two specials. The auto-attack before the stun counts as a standard auto-attack in the attack pattern.
After the first special attack, Telos resumes the following rotation starting from the line after the first special attack:
- 3 auto-attacks
- Magic barrage
- 3 auto-attacks
- 3 auto-attacks
- Black Virus (if over 50% enrage)
- 3 auto-attacks
- 3 auto-attacks
Like in phase 1, Telos will focus on using melee attacks and cycle through his moveset. On low enrages, it does not matter if Telos is standing on the black stream, as proper cycling will ensure that he will be unable to discharge his whole bar before phasing. On higher enrages, move Telos out of these streams as his onslaught can deal significant amounts of damage, especially with the red projectiles. If the bar is filled halfway, a single Debilitate or Reflect should be sufficient to block most of the damage. If it is filled completely, it will be necessary to use Devotion or Barricade to reduce the damage of the red projectiles. Resonance can be used on a red projectile for a heavy heal, but Preparation will be needed so it will be ready for the stun attack.
Black streams will continually appear one at a time when the previous stream has been exhausted.
Try to ensure that Telos is phased during his magical onslaught, uppercut, stun, or virus as it will give extra time for the player's own Onslaught in the next phase. Avoid ending on his tendril attack, as it will force players to end Onslaught early to prepare for the stun attack.
- Unlike the previous two streams, the red stream appears around the locations of the anima-golem's spawn spot. The beam will persist for 33 ticks (20 seconds) before changing locations, and will always be active during this phase.
- Shockwave - If Telos's special bar reaches the red area on the right, he will unleash a powerful shockwave dealing typeless 2,000 damage (at 0% enrage). He only uses the shockwave in conjunction with his special attacks. When using his uppercut or stun attack, he will only release one shockwave. However, when he inflicts the virus, he will rapidly release up to three shockwaves.
- Anima-golems - Three anima-golems will appear one at a time, charging his anima bar to the right. The first golem appears in the south-east corner, the second in the north middle section, and the third in the south-west corner. They collapse on the ground upon reaching 0 life points; an adrenaline bar will appear over them while they are disabled, once they are subdued it takes 28 ticks (17 seconds) for their bar to refill. When this bar fills, they heal to full life points and resume charging Telos. The health of the golems begins at 1,000 and scales with enrage (1,000 + enrage * 2.5).
- Drain - If Telos's special bar reaches the red area on the left, he will start draining the player's adrenaline and prayer. The adrenaline drain begins at 10% per "charge", but this will begin to increase after 400%. Although a game message says that Telos charges himself, the bar does not move towards the right. At encounters of 3300% or higher, if Telos does not touch the red beam at the start of phase 3, the first drain will fully drain prayer and adrenaline. Telos drains percentage prayer according to the formula 3 * enrage/100, capping at 99%.
The third phase starts 7 auto-attacks followed by the following special attack:
- If the last special attack was the magical onslaught, the first one will be the red virus. While the virus will not appear in encounters of 49% or lower enrage, Telos will still attempt to use it, though nothing will happen.
- If the last special attack was either the stun, black virus, or uppercut, Telos will use 10 auto-attacks before using the uppercut special.
- If the last special attack was the grip attack, the first one will be the stun attack.
After the first special attack Telos uses the following attack rotation, starting from the line after the special attack he used first:
- 3 magic auto-attacks
- 3 magic auto-attacks
- 3 magic auto-attacks
- Red Virus (if over 50% enrage)
This is the phase where you must do as much damage as possible quickly, since this phase can deplete a lot of food and prayer if it is done improperly on high enrage. Throughout this phase, Telos's bar moves to the left when he attacks the player with magic.
Stand in the red beam and use Onslaught, Sunshine, Metamorphosis, or Berserk to deal large amounts of damage quickly. While Sunshine/Berserk can be used on low enrages, Onslaught is recommended on higher enrages as speed is crucial to this phase. Sunshine has the disadvantage of being confined to one area and having your attacks miss, in addition to Telos inconveniently draining your adrenaline if his meter shifts to the red section on the left.
In encounters of 49% or lower enrage, Telos will not use his virus attack. It will still be part of his attack pattern; in these cases, Telos will pause for several seconds. It will be taken into consideration for the first special attack on phase 4.
Switch to Protect from Magic or Deflect Magic as Telos will only use magic attacks during this phase. However, he is still able to use his stun attack, which deals melee damage. Deal with it the same way you would on the other phases; do not switch overhead prayers unless planning to Devotion it.
As Telos's enrage increases, the red sections on the bar gradually increase. By the time a kill is attempted on 300%+, the red sections on the bar will leave a very slim amount of empty space (where Telos does not react with adrenaline/pray drain or shockwaves).
The anima-golems can be ignored if one is active on low enrages. On high enrage, you should start disabling the golems, since three golems feeding Telos anima, or two with the red stream hitting him will rapidly fill up his anima bar. AoE attacks can hit the golems but require Telos to be near them, so it is better to manually target them instead. If a golem is too far from your attack range, either ignore it until the stream changes location or run out and disable it.
Continue to avoid Telos's attacks; if Telos manages to use his shockwaves (the chances of which increase greatly as his enrage rises), immediately use some form of damage reduction such as Reflect, Debilitate or Barricade, especially on higher enrages and if the meter is completely shifted to the right, as they deal tremendous damage. Telos releases 3 shockwaves whenever he uses his virus attack, so try to save some form of damage reduction then to mitigate as much damage as possible. Lure Telos out of the red beams and disable all of the anima-golems until the meter reaches the middle or left side of the bar.
It is recommended to end the phase either on his uppercut or virus attack, as he will use an uppercut or stun attack as his first special attack, both of which can be easily dealt with.
In this phase, there are three anima fonts scattered around the edges of the arena; a Pure, Volcanic and Corrupt Anima Font. The phase starts with the player landing next to the Pure Anima Font found at the north-western side of the arena, with Telos dropping down shortly afterwards.
The fourth phase starts with 3 auto-attacks followed by the following special attack:
- If the last special attack was the uppercut attack, the first one will be another uppercut attack.
- If the last special attack was the stun attack, the first one will be the weak anima bomb attack.
- If the last special attack was red virus, the first special attack on phase 4 will be the stun attack.
- In encounters of 49% or lower enrage, the red virus will still count as if it was there despite Telos never using it. This only applies if Telos was moved to the next phase on the forth to sixth attacks after the stun attack on phase 3.
Telos can use the "SO. MUCH. POWER!" attack on this phase when his anima bar is full. Encounters of 1000% and higher enrage will also cause rocks to fall during this phase.
After the first special attack, Telos uses the following attack rotation during this phase, starting from the line after the first special attack. This rotation can be interrupted by the anima bomb seen in phase 1, after which the rotation resumes. Unlike the other three phases where Telos always attempts to melee the player, he will not do so during this phase.

In addition to this, Telos has several new attacks at his disposal during this phase:
- Font siphon/Instant kill bomb - At 75%, 50%, and 25% life points in phase 4, Telos stops attacking and heads towards the pure, volcanic, and corrupted anima fonts in that order to drain it of energy and send an instant-kill bomb at the player. Depending on his location, he will either walk or jump to the font. A bar appears over his head while he drains the font's anima. This is separate from the special bar on phase 4, which also fills at the same time he does this. The player must stand near the font, which damages both itself and the player once they stand near it. After the font is depleted of its life points, it creates a shield dome that must be stood in to survive Telos's instant kill bomb. The instant kill bomb disables defensives and puts them on cooldown for 6 seconds.
At the same time, Telos summons one pure, volcanic and Corrupt anima-golem to attack the player. While is it not necessary to kill them, it is still recommended to do so as they can be dangerous if left alive. The golems have health based on this formula (8,000 + 20 * enrage).
- Pure anima-golems deal increased damage the longer they linger on the field. Are coloured green.
- Volcanic anima-golems can stun and bind the player for 3 seconds. Are coloured red.
- Corrupt anima-golems can inflict the "Armour Break" debuff () in stacks of 5%. Every 1% reduces your armour's defensive rating by 1%. This can stack up to 100%. Stacks are removed at 5% at a time. Are coloured black-grey.
- The font has health based on this formula (5,000 + 100 * floor (enrage/10)), capping at 10,000 at 500% enrage. Standing near the font will rip off 20% of its health and damage the player for the same amount of damage the font is taking. This damage can be reduced/blocked. At the last 20%, it will deal base damage, meaning that any damage reducing/adding effects are ignored unless using Barricade. When drained by the player, a shield is generated to protect the player from the instant-kill bomb. If the player sets up the shield quickly, Telos will say You dare to defy me?
- After finishing this attack, Telos resumes at where he left off on his normal attack pattern - take note of when he is phased to this attack, as the bomb resets defensive abilities.
- Let the anima consume you! (weak anima bomb) - Telos sends a weak anima bomb at the player, dealing up to 2,500 damage (increasing with enrage, max damage is 2,500 + 10 * enrage). This also inflicts a damage over time effect that deals 10% of the bomb's base damage per hit and drain overload timers by 15 seconds every time it deals damage. If no overload is in effect, it rapidly drains combat stats by 2 every tick instead. This bleed is not affected by damage reducing defensives except for Barricade. Standing near a font (does not matter if it is active or disabled) cleanses this effect. The bomb's damage can be blocked/reduced. If resonance is required to block a weak anima bomb and some golems are still alive, an ideal timing to avoid them sniping resonance will be to activate resonance when the bomb "hits" and the player lights up. However, this will leave them vulnerable to the stun attack, so Protect/Deflect Melee with Freedom/Resonance is required.
Like phase 3, damage needs to be done quickly, but carefully. Due to the random fluctuations in Telos's health, until 200% enrage (which is when each set of golems spawn after Telos loses 37,500 health), it is recommended to calculate when he drains the fonts beforehand to determine the health required to trigger the golems' appearance.
Debuff Telos on the start of this phase and continue to damage him until the first set of golems arrive, taking note of where he is on his attack pattern. This is due to the fact that after the instant-kill bomb, Telos will resume his attack pattern on where he left off, and the lack of defensives due to the bomb can be problematic on higher enrage.
To deal with the golems, lure them to the font Telos is draining. Equip your wand and shield/defender, and activate Anticipation, Reflect and Revenge; you will take as little damage as possible, but gain stacks very quickly due to multiple sources of damage attacking you. Golems can be quickly cleared with AoE abilities, but on higher enrages, you may need to freeze them with Entangle or Ice Barrage. All golems during this phase can attack diagonally and have halberd-type range minus the volcanic golem who tends to attack the player in melee distance without halberd range. The volcanic golem should be targeted first, followed by the corrupted and finally pure golems.
If the golems are killed early and Telos is in range, target (and reapply debuffs if needed) him and deploy a dreadnip. If he is out of range, simply stay put. Do not leave the shield radius either until the message "You survived the anima bomb!" appears, or the instant-kill bomb will kill you. On encounters of 1000% or higher, it is important to stand on a square where rocks won't cover the font.
After the first instant-kill bomb, continue to damage Telos; it is not required to move to the font on low enrage, as he will usually walk and siphon from a distance when phased into the second font. Before phasing the second set of golems, wait for Telos to perform a special attack first. Deal with the second set of golems and instant-kill bomb the same way. If phasing this set of golems after the stun attack, players should remember that the high damage bomb will come after two auto-attacks.
After the second instant-kill bomb, immediately stun Telos with Impact, Deep Impact and Asphyxiate in any order. In encounters of 150-249% enrage, it is recommended to use Impact first to check if he will break out of the stun. In 250% and higher enrage, it is mandatory to use Impact first since he is likely to break free as soon as he is stunned.
By waiting for a special attack before phasing the golems, he will have to perform three more auto-attacks (two if phased during stun attack) before throwing out his high-damage bomb, which will be stalled further with stuns. Resonance should be ready by the time he deploys it. If golems are still lingering around, either use Barricade, or if on the Ancient Spellbook, freeze them and move out of their range so only Telos can attack you. Shield Dome or Disruption Shield is also useful in blocking the incoming hit. Be sure to time it carefully if golems are still alive to prevent one of them from activating it first. Stacking damage reduction is also a viable option for surviving the bomb depending on the enrage, but should only be used as a last resort.
The third set of golems and instant-kill bomb are dealt with the same way as the other two sets. Any remaining golems that are not killed will disappear when Telos reaches 0 health. Players should be halfway or at the Corrupted Anima Font prior to phasing the golems. If the player is stalled for 3 or more seconds (the bar fills up 4 or more times) trying to reach the font, they must prepare for a second high damage bomb, as Telos drains from this font significantly faster compared to the previous two.
Upon reaching 0 health, a cutscene will ensue where Telos will fall into the large pool of anima. In encounters of 99% and lower enrage, this ends the kill. On encounters of 100% and higher enrage, he will suddenly rise from the pool, beginning phase 5 (see below).
This phase only occurs in encounters of 100% and higher enrage. Telos's starting health on this phase is 100,000. Every 1% enrage after 100% will add 500 life points rather than the typical 1,000. His health will cap at 200,000 at 300% enrage. Like phase 3, he only attacks with magic. The streams from the first three phases will also appear here, all at the same time. They will remain for 60 ticks (36 seconds) before changing positions; however, it is possible for the stream to stay in the same spot.
Each autoattack increases the bar to the right. After 10 auto-attacks, Telos will infect the player with a randomly colored virus. After 17 more auto-attacks (27 total), Telos will commence his instant kill bomb. If the player has not completed the Stuffed With Anima feat, the chatbox will notify when Telos' anima bar is filled, as he will use the instant kill bomb after two more auto-attacks. After the instant kill bomb, Telos will use two auto-attacks before spawning the next set of golems with his third auto-attack, after which he repeats his attack pattern.
Telos also discards all of his special attacks from the previous phase for the following:
- Golems - Telos summons 6 anima-golems, all of one type. These golems function the same as in phase 4 except the volcanic golems during this phase have halberd-type range. The formula for their health is (4,500 + 22.5 * (enrage - 100)). Four golems are required to power up the destroyed fonts, which are used to protect against the instant-kill bomb attack. Extra golems killed at the font will carry over to the next cycle if the font is not at 100%. Telos does not summon golems of the same type back-to-back. For example, if he summoned volcanic golems as his first set, he must summon corrupted and pure before being able to resummon volcanic golems. If all six golems of a wave are still alive after Telos uses his instantkill attack, no new golems will spawn, and a different font will be needed to charge the fonts required to stop the instantkill attack.
- Rockfall - Throughout this phase, large piles of rocks will fall from the ceiling, dealing heavy typeless damage. These are indicated by a small piles of rock that fall in that area and which deal no damage. The rocks do not always fall directly on top of the player, so moving a fair distance away is recommended, either through running or using Surge or Bladed Dive. Damage can be reduced/blocked with defensive abilities. These tend to fall between random intervals of 12-24 seconds.
- In encounters of 1000% and higher enrage, up to five piles of rocks will fall at a time.
- Powerful Virus - When Telos is roughly half charged for his instant kill attack, the player will be infected with a virus in a similar manner to phases 2 and 3, although it is random and can be either red, black, or exclusive to phase 5, green. This virus is twice as damaging as in the earlier phases and is cleared in the same way: by running to the corresponding anima beam.
- Anima Bomb - Telos charges an anima bomb soon after the ability bar at the top becomes full. This attack will kill the player instantly unless the charged font is used (depending on which type of golem spawned at the beginning of the attack cycle) to disable him; or, at enrages below 1,000%, Immortality is used to revive the player.
- Note: The player must be careful of rocks falling as the anima bomb hits them - in rare cases the rocks can deal damage while the player is still immobile and lead to an early and unavoidable death. Try to stay moving and possibly surge away the tick before the bomb hits you.
The following is one of the possible ability rotations for phase 5:
- Vulnerability (if applicable)
- Wild Magic
- Corruption Blast
- Sunshine in the green beam
- Asphyxiate (switch to deflect melee)
- Deep Impact
- Reflect rock (switch back to deflect magic)
- Detonate (3 ticks)/autoattack/Tsunami golems
- Corruption Blast golems
- Clear virus (Debilitate) and move to the green beam
- Guthix staff special while waiting for the rock to fall
When the phase starts, if on the normal spellbook, cast Vulnerability on him, quickly followed by a stun to slightly stall his attack rotation in encounters below 249% enrage.
In encounters of 150% and higher enrage, Telos automatically breaks free of stuns/binds at the beginning of the phase, which also applies a 6 second stun immunity in encounters of 250% and higher enrage.
On lower enrages, run towards the green stream, luring the golems to the correct tile, and Sunshine immediately. Stun Telos and use the Asphyxiate ability until your adrenaline bar reaches full. Cast Tsunami upon the minions, which should kill all of them. Alternatively, Natural Instinct can be used first followed by Tsunami.
On higher enrages, a shield will be required, to reduce the high damage taken. Reflect and Revenge should be immediately used in conjunction with an arcane spirit shield (for damage mitigation) or kalphite rebounder (for increased damage) to reduce damage and quickly accumulate stacks, which can be in turn used against the golems to quickly kill them off. The Ancient Magicks spellbook is also recommended for Ice Barrage, as the golems will neatly line themselves up, so simply targeting the lead golem will prevent the whole group from moving until the bind wears off. This prevents the golems from assisting Telos in damaging the player, as attempting to tank both Telos and multiple golems will result in a swift death.
Note that should the green stream be placed across the player, positioning the golems may be slightly harder as Tsunami will usually ignore one or two of the golems because of how they are placed.
If he uses a green virus, simply stay in the green beam as it automatically clears. If he uses a black or red virus, surge towards its respective stream. If the beam is placed diagonally from the green stream, position yourself facing the stream so that when you Surge, you will be immediately on or next to that stream. Wait for the beams to change. After changing, move to the green stream and perform Onslaught and deploying a dreadnip. On low enrages, the rockfall can be ignored. On higher enrages, wait for a rock to fall before activating Onslaught. It is safe to tank a single rock at low enrage, but they will need to be dodged as his enrage increases.
At 250% and higher enrage, there will be less time to damage Telos due to the increased health of the golems and his temporary stun immunity. This means that he will most likely be able to perform one instant-kill bomb. Stay on the green stream and gain adrenaline to use Immortality, then continue standing on it to gain more adrenaline. Ensure that you are not killed by falling rocks or golems (any are still alive), as it will consume Immortality and leave you vulnerable for the instant-kill bomb. Telos gains heavy damage reduction while using the bomb, so spend this time preparing for the next set of golems.
Sometimes, a rock will fall after Immortality's invulnerability effect, which can possibly kill the player due to Immortality immobilising them. In this event, Resonance will nullify the rock, although it is still possible for Telos' magic attack to activate Resonance first. To avoid this, stand relatively far away from Telos, which increases the time his magic attack needs to travel to the player.
After the bomb, move back towards the green beam, Sunshine, and continue to attack the boss. If his health is rather high, it may be necessary to kill the golems near the font to charge it. Unless using Achto and its set effect activates, it is impossible to perform Immortality to deal with back-to-back instant-kill bombs, even if he is stunned constantly.
On encounters of 1000% and higher enrage, the golems must be killed at their fonts - Telos's instant-kill bomb will ignore Immortality. A sign/portent of life/death can still be used if it is not on cooldown.
