Walkthrough

Start point	Talk to Ali Morrisane

Requirements	Skill requirements are not boostable unless marked with a [B] for boostable. 30 Thieving
Items required	Items from the tool belt are not listed unless they do not work or are not automatically added. Desert disguise (buy from Ali Morrisane's store in Al Kharid or the General Store in Pollnivneach). At least 1,000 coins (a ring of charos will reduce the cost of carpet rides) A bucket (there are two bucket spawns in Sami the Camel Man's shop) Leather gloves (spawns behind Edgeville bank) or coloured gloves. 3 beer (can be purchased from Ali the Barman)
Recommended	Equipment to kill two champions. If the fights are worrisome, bring some food and/or a few prayer potions and/or a ring of life A few Waterskins Broomstick (for faster teleports to Shantay Pass). The general store in Pollnivneach and Ali Morrisane's store at the quest start sells most of the items needed.
Enemies to defeat	Bandit champion (Level 54) Tough guy (Level 54)

Getting started

Talk to Ali Morrisane in Al Kharid. ( 1•2•✓•2)…

Buy a Kharidian headpiece and a fake beard and combine them to make a desert disguise.

Pollnivneach

Travel to Pollnivneach and head to the local bar.
Give three beers to Drunken Ali and speak with him in-between each beer.
Go west of the bar and question a Menaphite Thug. Make sure to right-click to avoid attacking him.
Talk to a Bandit in the northern part of Pollnivneach. Again, right-click to talk to him.

Camels

Head to the camel store north-west of the bar.
Ask Ali the Camel Man for two camels. Offer nothing, then offer 500 coins. ( 4•2•1•2•2)…
4 Are those camels around the side for sale?
2 What price do you want for both of them?
1 So can I have them for free then?
2 Would 500 gold coins for the pair of them do?
2 No but thanks for your time.
Give one receipt to a Menaphite Thug and one to a bandit.

The Menaphites

Pickpocketing

Go south-west to a big purple tent and ask Ali the Operator to join his gang. ( 1•2)…
1 Yes, of course, those bandits should be taught a lesson.
2 No thanks.
Pickpocket a villager and then return to Ali the Operator for advice.( 1•2)…
1 Yeah, I could do with a bit of advice.
2 No thanks.
Talk to the street urchin near the centre town fountain. Pay him ten coins and then pickpocket the villager with an arrow over their head.
Talk to Ali the Operator. ( 1)…
1 Yeah, I could do with a bit of advice.
Equip the oak-blackjack and then lure a villager into a secluded area. Knock out the villager with the blackjack and pickpocket them.

Jewels

Talk to Ali the Operator.
Put on the desert disguise and gloves.
Hide behind the cactus near the mayor's house next to the fountain.
Use the keys on the door.
Search the study desk in the south-west part of the house for a note.
Climb the stairs.
Search the landscape picture near the bed.
Hit the button on the dial to reset it, then hit 1-1-2-3-5-8 in that order clockwise. Right-click the dials to help with the numbers.
Give the jewels to Ali the Operator.

Traitor

Talk to a Menaphite Thug.
Talk to Ali the Operator. ( 2)…
2 No thanks.
Talk to Ali the barman. ( 3•1)…
3 I'm looking for Traitorous Ali.
1 No thanks I'm ok.
Go up the hill north-west of the kebab shop and talk to Ali the hag.
Withdraw one coin from your money pouch and use it on the snake charmer sitting south of the bar.
Use the snake charm on a desert snake north of the Menaphite tent until it goes into the snake basket.
Buy red hot sauce from Ali the Kebab seller. ( 3•2)…
3 Would you sell me that bottle of special kebab sauce?
2 No thanks, I'm good.
Use the sauce on a trough in the camel shop.
Use a bucket on the dung if it is brown. If it is green, use more sauce on a camel until it is brown.
Talk to Ali the hag twice to give her the full snake basket and ugthanki dung.
Use the Hag's poison on the table in the bar (it's the one with a full beer on it, not the beer glass one).
Talk to Ali the Operator.

Dealing With the Thugs

Talk to the Menaphite Leader.
Kill the Tough Guy.
Talk to a villager. ( 2)…
2 Ok I'll get to it.
Talk to the Bandit Leader east of the northern Magic carpet station.
Kill the Bandit Champion.
Talk to a villager.
Talk to Ali the Mayor.
Return to Ali Morrisane in Al-Kharid.
Quest complete!
