A tiara can be made by a player with 23 Crafting by using a silver bar on a furnace while that player has a tiara mould in the inventory or on the tool belt, granting 52.5 Crafting experience. This is the 2nd fastest way to gain crafting experience in free to play, behind cutting gems, making diamond amulets and near equal to making ruby amulets.
A tiara can be bound with a talisman by using the talisman to go to the runecrafting altar and then using the tiara on the runecrafting altar. This process consumes the talisman by combining it with the tiara. The tiara thereafter grants access to the runecrafting altar by left-clicking the respective mysterious ruin. The tiara is more convenient than the talisman, since the tiara can be equipped, freeing an extra inventory space for a rune essence. Tiaras have no Locate function for their altars (which talismans do), and they weigh more than talismans.
