Tight springs are a reward obtained from various events, including Birth by Fire, Deathbeard's Demise, and Aiding the Exile. They can also be created using the Invention skill. They function in exactly the same manner as springs, but are not tradeable, and are used to either charge or quick upgrade the spring cleaner. When charging the spring cleaner, each tight spring will provide one charge. When upgrading the spring cleaner, each tight spring will be consumed immediately and added to the upgrade process, as if a charge were used.

Price estimation[]
When the cost of creating tight springs is higher than the cost of Springs (currently 3,283) then it is not recommended to create them yourself.

Opportunity cost[]
Assuming unstrung oak shieldbows and steel scimitars are used, the base cost is 2,197.15 coins per spring. The average disassembly time for gathering 120 tensile parts and 1 subtle component is 6.88 minutes. If the player can earn 1 million coins per hour via other activities, the total cost per spring would become 7,930.48 coins, making it less economical than buying springs.
However, other components gained from dissassembly may make tight springs worth crafting. This is particularly true if the components are gained as secondary products from other dissassembly based activities.

Trivia[]
- When it was first released, charging the spring cleaner with both the tradeable spring and the tight spring in the inventory used up both types, but charged only half the amount.
- It was originally named "Spring" until 5 September 2016.
