Talking to Kat[]

  • Kat: Well, hi there!
    • I take it you work with the YMCA?
      • Player: I take it you work with the YMCA?
      • Kat: I sure do - and I'm here to answers[sic] any questions you might have!
      • (Returns to the previous options.)
    • How will this help...
      • Player: How does this event help the YMCA with those struggling with mental health issues?
      • Kat: The YMCA is focused on supporting young people to feel safe and happy. Part of this work involves working with young people around mental health. YMCA Downslink Group has a range of projects that work to improve mental health for young people and we are now teaming up with Jagex to make sure we spread our messages even further! This event helps to raise awareness, as well as raising money that will support our mental health projects to reduce stigma and improve mental health outcomes for young people! Thanks for asking!
      • (Returns to the previous options.)
    • What are my donated RuneCoins going towards?
      • Player: What are my donated RuneCoins going towards?
      • Kat: Your donations will go towards funding the YMCA Right Here Project. This project works with a team of young people to educate, campaign and influence communities around mental health. Recently they created a website that offers advice, information and a service directory for mental health support, you can check the event interface for more information. Your money will go towards helping them create new ways to inform people about mental health so that there is more understanding and support and less stigma.
      • (Returns to the previous options.)
    • Why are YMCA working with Jagex?
      • Player: Why are YMCA working with Jagex?
      • Kat: Good question! The money raised through Jagex will go towards the YMCA Right Here Project - a mental health project for young people. YMCA Right Here are passionate about using digital technology to reach young people and share knowledge, information and advice about mental health. Working with Jagex means we get to speak to you guys about what we do and get you involved and it also means we can work with some very clever developers to create new ideas and projects around mental health!
      • (Returns to the previous options.)
    • What shall I do if I need help around my mental health?
      • Player: What shall I do if I need help around my mental health?
      • Kat: As a first step it's always a good idea to share what you're experiencing with someone you trust who can offer you support. This could be a friend, parent, professional or someone else. Next it's a good idea to go and have a chat with your GP about how you're feeling. If you're unsure of how to start this conversation we have many resources that can help  [sic]check the event interface for more information.

Talking to Lau'ra[]

  • Lau'ra: Thanks for stopping by and checking out our camp!

      • (Returns to the previous options.)
    • How will this help...
      • Player: How will my 'Defender of the Mind Armour' help The Prince's Trust to support young people who are struggling with mental health issues?
      • Lau'ra: The Prince's Trust believes that one of the most significant ways to improve a young person's mental health is to help them INTO WORK. Your RuneCoins will help The Trust to give young people the confidence and skills they need to move into JOBS, training or education.
      • (Returns to the previous options.)
    • Why is mental health awareness so important?
      • Player: Why is mental health awareness so important?
      • Lau'ra: Some challenges are too tough to face alone. Worryingly, research has shown that one in four young people wouldn't confide in anyone if they thought they were experiencing a mental health problem, with many fearing it will affect their future prospects. Being aware of your challenges and finding support may be just what you need to advance to the next level.
      • (Returns to the previous options.)
    • How important is my mental health?
      • Player: How important is my mental health?
      • Lau'ra: Physical strength is needed to fight with a sword, but mental health gives you greater understanding and in RuneScape that helps with magic! We may not use magic at The Prince's Trust, but we believe mental health shouldn't be a barrier to a young peron's chances of succeeding in life and do everything we can to help build their self-esteem and skills for work.
      • (Returns to the previous options.)
    • Can The Prince's Trust help me offline?
      • Player: Can The Prince's Trust help me offline?
      • Lau'ra: If you're 11-30 years old and need support in building your confidence, developing your employability skills or even starting your own business, The Prince's Trust can help to get you on track. Find out what courses are coming up in your area by searching 'Prince's Trust' online.
