Starting the event

Talking to Guard Captain Roarkwin in Port Sarim

First time

  • Player: Hey, what's going on here? Can I help?
  • Guard Captain Roarkwin: Certainly! We'll take all the help we can get, right now.
    • If initial 200 tokens haven't been claimed:
      • Guard Captain Roarkwin: Here, take these!
      • The guard captain hands you two-hundred Port Sarim tokens. These can be cashed in for supply caches, and also used to configure which skills you will earn experience in during this event.

  • Player: What do you need help with?
  • Guard Captain Roarkwin: We're under attack by a bunch of pirates called the Skulls, led by the notorous Jed - otherwise known as the Iron Link.
  • Player: That guy? I have some unfinished business with him. He tried to kidnap a bunch of people not long ago, but Meg and I put a stop to it.
  • Player: Well, I put a stop to it and Meg, er, was also involved.
  • Guard Captain Roarkwin: It seems that wasn't enough for him, and now he's back trying to abduct more locals.
  • Player: Why attack the jail, though?
  • Guard Captain Roarkwin: We have a fairly large collection of inmates here, and we're mostly trained to keep them from escaping, not fend off a full-scale pirate assault.
  • Player: Still, it's risky, and not nearly as subtle as his previous attempts.
  • Guard Captain Roarkwin: My guess is his boss didn't take too kindly to his earlier failure, and now he's desperate. He could fill his hold with prisoners from here, for whatever dark purpose he has.
  • Player: Right then, so, how can I help out?
  • Guard Captain Roarkwin: There's a bunch of stuff you can help us out with. First and most obvious, you can take out the Skulls' landing parties. My guards are doing what they can to keep them outside of the jail, but they need support from more experienced fighters. Jed's ship is pounding the prison. Do what you can to repair the old lighthouse tower - if that thing falls it'll collapse the whole prison. We also have a cannon up on the roof. If you have any experience in making things explode at a distance, you might want to muck in with that. And of course, that cannon needs feeding with ammunition. There are some portable furnaces and a mixing table on the jail roof, so if you can smith us some cannonballs or mix black powder, that'd be a big help.
  • Each of these activities will generate tokens, up to a maximum of 2,000 per day. Tokens (200) can be cashed in for supply caches, which contain various rewards.
  • Right-click on a token to 'configure' which skills you will gain experience in for each each[sic] of the Invasion of Port Sarim activities.

Afterward

  • Player: Right then, so, how can I help out?

  • Seasinger Jemi: Hey, you seem the heroic type - Fancy helping out the people of Port Sarim?
  • Player: Why, what's going on?
  • Seasinger Jemi: Oh, not much really. The jail there is only being attacked by a notorious gang of pirates, who are abducting people to do who knows what with!
  • Seasinger Jemi: I promise it'll be worth your time, though. There's plenty that needs doing - repelling landing parties, making cannonballs, repairing the jail and firing back at the pirates!
  • Seasinger Jemi: It sounds like a lot of, er, fun? If you're interested, you should talk to the guard captain near the Port Sarim lodestone.

Use Portal? This portal will take you to the Port Sarim guard captain, where you can help repel the Skulls raiders. [Cancel] [OK]

Talking to Seasinger Umi

Before the Boat to the Arc event

  • Seasinger Umi: Greetings! It's almost time to begin building a boat for a journey to the Arc! I'm just sorting out a few final details. Check back with me soon.

During day 1 of the Boat to the Arc event

  • Seasinger Umi: Today's task is to mine us up some ore and gather energy from some divine locations to make the job a little easier.
  • Player: Can you tell me more?
  • Seasinger Umi: You can't build a boat without some raw materials! I've already had a gracious donation of wood planks for the body of the boat.
  • Seasinger Umi: That just means that today we'll be gathering the ore we need to make nails and the like.
  • Seasinger Umi: And I had an ingenious idea! Instead of sending everyone out to find the rocks to mine, why not bring the rocks to us?
  • Seasinger Umi: You can also help me by gathering energy for the stores for the boat.
  • Seasinger Umi: We'll just set up a production line and everything will go smoothly I'm sure.
    • Are there any rewards?
      • Seasinger Umi: Of course there are rewards! Couldn't have you helping for nothing.
      • Seasinger Umi: I have been gathering together a selection of items which you can use to help further train your skills.
      • Seasinger Umi: The more people that help, the more free time I have to collect items to hand out at the end.
      • Player: Are there any other rewards?
      • Seasinger Umi: Well if that isn't enough for you, you also have the masses of training to do here! There is nothing better than self-improvement.

    • How long will you be here for?
      • Seasinger Umi: We are still working to my estimate and should take another four days after this to complete the work.
      • (Returns to the dialogue choices.)

During day 2 of the Boat to the Arc event

  • Seasinger Umi: Today we'll start working with the ore and wooden planks we've collected, smithing and constructing the basis of the boat.
  • Player: Can you tell me more?
  • Seasinger Umi: We managed to mine more than enough ore yesterday to satisfy our needs.
  • Seasinger Umi: Today I'd like you to start fashioning it all into nails and anchors and the like. We'll get all the smithing out of the way in one go!
  • Seasinger Umi: If that doesn't take your fancy, you could always put your hand to a little construction work.
  • Seasinger Umi: Having looked at the stockpile of planks I acquired, I think we have enough to make the entire boat hull today!
  • Seasinger Umi: Could you imagine! That's basically all the work already done! You'll have to work hard though, don't get me wrong.

    • How long will you be here for?
      • Seasinger Umi: We are still working to my estimate and should take another three days after this to complete the work.

  • Seasinger Umi: With the basics in place, today is the day to start crafting and hanging the sails and rigging. You'll need to be agile!
  • Player: Can you tell me more?
  • Seasinger Umi: The boat is going to look grander than I ever imagined! Everyone has been more than helpful!
  • Seasinger Umi: With the skeletal structure done, we need to give the boat a way to harness the wind!
  • Seasinger Umi: I've set up a station for you to flex your crafting skills and take your hand to sail and rope making.
  • Seasinger Umi: We'll then need some agile young individuals to get on board and get their sea legs.
  • Seasinger Umi: You're not a true sailor until you can dance on the deck!
  • Seasinger Umi: It's really starting to take shape! I'm getting more and more excited by the day!

    • How long will you be here for?
      • Seasinger Umi: We are still working to my estimate and should take another two days after this to complete the work.

    • Seasinger Umi: For those trained in mining, we need ore extracted from those rocks.
    • Seasinger Umi: We need to make divine mining locations so we can collect the ore.
