Many players find them annoying when fishing for [[swordfish]], because tunas are caught along with swordfish. Because of this, in free-to-play worlds people may drop the tuna so they have more room for [[swordfish]]. However, they are probably one of the best ways to achieve 99 cooking as they are quite easy to get from players who are fishing swordfish, and provide decent experience. Factoring in the time/cost ratio, it is probably the most cost effective and fast way to achieve 99 cooking in free-to-play. At times,it is widely used in members worlds, especially during summer holidays, the peak of new players enter in the entire year. This is due to the whole lot of less wealthy members coming.

Tuna is still a powerful and cheap healing tool though, and can be very useful compared to weaker alternatives. Players will rarely burn tuna beginning at level 60 and will stop burning tuna at level 65 cooking. A  more accurate test done on level 60-65 cooking has proven that the average rate of burning tuna( 2 tests done, please add on) is 6 in every 5 inventories. Lucky members will notice that nothing is burnt. The most unlucky that one shoud get in this level range should be 3 burnt according to tests.

A player using barbarian fishing for Tuna

Tuna is a food item that can be obtained by fishing using a harpoon. It is fairly popular among free players, as it heals 10 hitpoints a piece. Since the Karamja fishing spot is not very far from a lesser demon area where people train, it can be a useful food.

Members can use it in baked potatoes with sweetcorn to make Tuna and corn, which heals a bit more than regular tunas. The cost of tuna can be made to profit this way. It requires 35 fishing to catch, yielding 80 experience or 160 experience when using sacred clay harpoon, and 30 cooking to cook, yielding 100 experience. Potato with butter can also be added with Tuna and corn to create a tuna potato, yielding another 10 experience.

Many players find them annoying when fishing for swordfish, because tunas are caught along with swordfish. Because of this, in free-to-play worlds people may drop the tuna so they have more room for swordfish. However, they are probably one of the best ways to achieve 99 cooking as they are quite easy to get from players who are fishing swordfish, and provide decent experience. Members using Barbarian Fishing can catch tuna exclusively (starting at level 55) until they reach level 70 Fishing. Once level 70 is attained, they will begin catching swordfish as well. This can be useful for those who wish to make tuna potatoes.
