An uncut gem is a rough gemstone that has not been crafted into a finished product. Uncut gems can be commonly obtained as a drop from various monsters or while mining ores. Once cut into gems, they can be combined with silver and gold bars to create jewellery.
Uncut gems can be mined directly from gem rocks in the north-west corner of Shilo Village, Lunar Isle Mine, and in Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup. Players can only mine from gem rocks on a member's world.
Uncut and cut gems can be purchased from, stolen from, or sold at gem shops, identified with a red gem icon on the world map. It is also possible to loot gems from safes in the Rogues' Den.

Trivia[]
- Uncut gems used to have the examine text "It would be worth more cut" but it was changed since uncut gems are generally worth more than cut ones.
- You need a higher crafting level to cut ruby than sapphire, but in real life, ruby and sapphire are just different varieties of corundum.
