Fake?

It's a fake. (unsigned comment by an IP)

Bull. There's no way that Jagex would be that self-destructive. If that were true then it would be the wilderness riots all over again. They can't be that stupid.Krono 'Zulamee 20:47, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

The link's right there. The news post is real. As for rioting, they're actually asking the users first; they won't do it if there aren't enough votes. Also, I'm guessing that if this passes they'll release a few "new wildy" themed worlds where you can't PK. --User:MarkGyver/Signature/Real 21:04, December 21, 2010 (UTC)
Why is the voting so horribly failed and stupid then? you can vote for anyone you want, would Jagex make a huge gaming play change decision that will effecy so many things including the hole economy and wildy without making it secure and fair? People have voted for 100 other people who might not want to vote? That's not something Jagex would do unless they want to destroy RuneScape and make half the members rage quit. Marrioneetee 21:08, December 21, 2010 (UTC)
I personally think this is a fix. There's no way Jagex are stupid enough to actually implement a change based on this poll. You don't even have to log in, you don't even need a name! Whatever they've decided, they are sticking by it whatever the votes say. If they want to bring it back, they'll say they got enough votes. If they're winding us up, they'll say not enough. They haven't added a "No" option, so there's nothing to weigh the responses by. User:Real Not Pure/Signature 21:13, December 21, 2010 (UTC)
Better be a hoax or im quitting.Marrioneetee 21:20, December 21, 2010 (UTC)
There's no possible way the votes can be taken seriously. I'm thinking that part of it has to do with making it look like it was the players' choice to take responsibility off Jagex when people inevitibly rant/rage at the ultimate decision. Jedi Magnus 21:27, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

THIS IS SO DUMB AND STUPID!

This is my argument

This bring back the old wildy and no trade limits is absolutely not necessary, what are they doing!!!

Firstly the dumb voting box is failed! You dont know that you are voting, you just put your name in, some people think they can vote yes or no!! That is unfair and misleading and a lot of people are annoyed because they didn't want to vote and they cant undo it! And secondly wtf!! random people can put your name in so therefore someone could vote a million times!! Think of that??? RESET THE VOTEING!! Jagex you really should think these thinks out!! Make it so you have to log in or something!!!! so its actually FAIR!

Also you are going to unbalance the hole economy! Ge will be useless as the street prices for things for destroy the ge and people will sell things for sooo much more and skill capes like prayer and herb wont be as awesome and epic because you could have just traded the things you need! The wild will be crushed! No more hard clue scrolls! It will be just to difficult to get to places you need for clues and pkers will just be waiting!!! No more green drags! Which is the income for A LOT of players, green drags is always busy but you are destroying that too! No more Were wolf agility course!!! No more Abyss, yeah rc got even harder than it is!! Hunting black salamanders? ruined! No more training agility in the wild as people will just kill you for fun!! No more mage arena! No more hunting for pengs in the wild! NO MORE NOTHING because its too dangerous!! Did they really think that out?! We wont even be able to get to places like clan wars without worrying of pkers! >:(

Jagex fails

Marrioneetee 21:00, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

This seriously isn't required. Jedi Magnus 21:28, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

Just creating a discussion on my opinions Marrioneetee 22:24, December 21, 2010 (UTC)
Personally, I also strongly oppose this, but Marri is right, rants like this should be more on talk/userpages. Slayer log Coelacanth0794 Talk Contribs 00:43, December 22, 2010 (UTC)
Can you restate that, Coel? It's a bit badly worded. Jedi Magnus 02:38, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

Guiness World Record

What's this about a guiness world record? I heard that the vote had to do something about a world record but then it was removed from the voting page? Can we get screenshots or more info about this?

There's a link about it on the guiness world records site on the bottom left side of the website's main page. not a whole lot of info though.

Aye, that's what some believe. Personally? It could be that... Jedi Magnus 02:36, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

Mod Mark screenshots

Myself (Warthog) has been lurking in Mod Mark's CC for a while, and here is a compilation of what he has said. http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/4014/101221221317.png RSN: Warthog Rhys Talk Completionist's cape... Coming soon. 01:04, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

I think

They're going to do it no matter what. The "vote" is just to get attention. Zeldafanjtl (talk | contribs) 01:28, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

It would be an enormous mistake. The game has changed too much since December 2007; the repercussions would be massive. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 01:30, December 22, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, they do need to let us know what precisely they'll do to to everything if they reinstate the wild/free trade. FOG, CW, SC, need to be moved, or have a free tele implemented, ect. Jedi Magnus 02:40, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

I CANNOT WAIT

... the 3 years of absolute hell will be worth it. Sweet redemption!

100% fake. It's 'shopped and they didn't even thing to change the time. The time on the post is the exact same, to the second of Mod Osborne's post within the "News & Announcements" forum.    Seil      Talk      HS    12:09, December 23, 2010 (UTC)

Fake

First off: Even if it were real, the number of "yes" votes would be weighed against all of the accounts that didn't vote. There were over 5 million accounts that were "active" to some level a couple of years ago, it's safe to say 10 million+ overall existing accounts is extremely likely, achieving the majority doesn't appear likely. Second off: Anyone can vote using any name, any number of times. There isn't a cap per name nor a proof of ownership, this screams fake. Third: There are only two "positive" things that would come of the update, pk loot would be equal to what is lost, and one would be able to give gifts to their friends like in the old days. Every other aftereffect of this would be a negative. RWT's power would be greater than ever, bot infestations, chaos within the economy due to the removal of the regulations. No one with any sense would even consider it going back to what it was, because it's simply not possible. The way it was had come after seven years of player regulation slowly stabilizing and shaping the market, that was done away with and forced regulations were placed, the removal of those forced regulations would break all stability in the market, it would stabilize eventually, but by the time it did, it would be corrupted by the new overwhelming presence of RWT, as it will undoubtedly take a much larger role than it did in the past and/or does now. Ultimately the only way this will happen is if Jagex is truly making an attempt to decimate their creation that is RuneScape. They may be good at making bad decisions, but not even they're THAT bad.    Seil      Talk      HS    12:07, December 23, 2010 (UTC)
