Urchin is a mermaid met during Deadliest Catch. She resides on a small island in the middle of the Northern Sea with Anemone and Tentacle. She appears to be of low intelligence as she can only repeat short phrases.

- There was a great deal of controversy with the release of Deadliest Catch, owing to her, along with her sisters, being the first NPCs to be partially nude in RuneScape, due to her uncovered breasts.
- She appears to be based on a lionfish.
- In the lore The Mermaids and the Dragon, Urchin is revealed to be a stepsister to Remora. The two other sisters that survived the encounter with the Queen Black Dragon are likely Anemone and Tentacle. Another sister named Manta was named in the short story.
