Vanity items are items which can only be obtained through perks beyond normal membership. It includes items added on to membership cards as promotional items, and items made as souvenirs for events (such as the Flagstaff of festivities from RuneFest). These items are not without controversy however, as there is a section of the RuneScape community that believes that these items constitute Real world trading on Jagex's behalf, which would violate their own terms of service (see rules of RuneScape).
