Wax is an item that players need when completing Troll Romance, a members-only quest. They make it by using swamp tar on a bucket of wax with a cake tin in their inventory.

They use it on a sled to protect the wood and to make the sled more slippery. This returns the message: "You wax the sled. You're now ready to go."

Trivia

Even though all Cake tins are black in game, it changes to green when this item is created without explanation.
