Willow roots are roots that have been dug up from a tree patch by a player after growing and then chopping down a willow tree using the skill of Farming. A spade is needed to dig up these roots. A player can only obtain one root per tree no matter what kind of compost has been used.
Willow roots can be used to make Supercompost, or spun on a spinning wheel to make Crossbow strings.
