Wolpertingers are level 92 Summoning familiars which are part-rabbit, part-wolf. They have the ability of boosting the Hunter skill by 5, though this boost is invisible. Wolpertingers also double the experience and yield when berries are being harvested in the Farming skill. These familiars provide 5% defence bonus against Magic. They are favoured among high level hybrids in the Wilderness for their Magic Focus special attack, which gives a +7 boost to Magic level, higher than that of a Magic potion, and their extremely small size, to not get in the way while hybriding. Their size is also favoured over an arctic bear familiar if hunters do not mind the loss of the extra +2 boost.
Magic focus scroll enables the use of the Magic Focus special move for a Wolpertinger. Using the pouch on a Summoning obelisk creates 10 scrolls.
Magic Focus is the special move for Wolpertingers, which will boost the Magic level by 7.
Although this boost is equal to that of the extreme magic potion, magic focus CAN be used in the wilderness, making it a valuable asset for PKers using Magic.
The familiar's examine text, "It's just a harmless wee rabbit" is a reference to the scene in the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail, when Tim warns them about the killer-rabbit. "Wee" also means small in Gaelic and doric, the language traditionally and dialect modernly spoken in Scotland.
A Wolpertinger is a small fictional mammal found of Bavarian folklore.
There is currently a glitch where a player's Wolpertinger appears a quarter of the size it normally is.
