The wyrm spike is a unique drop obtained by killing Lava strykewyrms and its boss variant, the WildyWyrm, in the Wilderness. When attached to an abyssal whip, a whip vine, or an Abyssal vine whip, it creates the lava whip. The creation process can be undone, although only the wyrm spike will be salvaged. Using an abyssal whip or a whip vine will create a lava whip with 20% charges remaining; using an abyssal vine whip will create a lava whip with 40% charges remaining.
The lava whip degrades as it is used. Players can use additional abyssal whips, whip vines, or abyssal vine whips to recharge it, however. After 10 hours of combat, it will degrade and consume the abyssal whip, leaving the player with the wyrm spike.
